Hey Everyone!

At the end of last year, Michael from XtremeImportz.com (chronicbarbarian on this forum) offered to send me a pair of Powerizer Pros for free. Of course I accepted this offer, and in this post I will describe my thoughts on them.

XtremeImportz.com is a great place to buy a pair of Powerizers in the US and in Canada. Michael provides excellent customer service- and from my dealings with him I'd recommend buying from his company.

This is going to be split up into two videos, the first shows me receiving the box, and then goes to Razor trying them out:

After trying both the Powerizer Pro and the standard Poweriser 7090s I had previously, we both agreed that the Powerizer Pro is a lot more smooth, more comfortable and easier to get bounce from. The tilting of the footpad makes running a lot less tiring, and makes you go a lot faster once you realise how to get the most from it.

The next video shows me in Leith, Edinburgh and going into Ocean Terminal, a shopping centre:

You can see that using them feels very natural, and I think I got pretty fast on the bridge on the way back.

I'm looking forward to getting more and more accustomed to this new model, which has proven to be a lot easier, and a lot more fun to use than my previous Poweriser 7090s.

I'd definitely recommend going Pro!

And I'd like to say a big thanks to Michael from XtremeImportz.com again for sending me the Powerizer Pros through.

Get Powerizer Pros from XtremeImportz.

Nice review Matt!

Your very lucky to get a free pair to try out, but hey you deserve it for building such a great forum!

How does the footplate affect your running?

Haha, nice one riding the escalators!

They do actually look really nice, does the moving footplate alter the jumping at all?

Looks really nice over all. Definitely going to try them in the future.

"You can see that using them feels very natural, and I think I got pretty fast on the bridge on the way back." -It sounded to me like you were able to take faster steps with them then normal.

It makes it a lot faster- once you get used to it, and you start to tilt your feet it allows you to push back and transfer the spring's energy into forward movement. On the bridge on the way back I am starting to get used to this.

zackiz- yeah, you start to adopt a more frequent pace

Sprog- You don't really notice the moving footplate unless you are moving forwards, so when you are just jumping up and down, there is little difference.

That is really cool. How where they when it comes to jumping? I've read, and it might have stuck in my head, that they aren't as good as normals when it comes to jumping as when it comes to running. Is it as easy to jump high and controllable with them compared to the normals?

Compared to normal ones jumping, they seem to compress a lot easier- and I get the same kind of height. So in general it's more comfortable jumping with them.

Though one footed jumping you don't seem to get very high without bottoming them out. But as soon as you start tilting forward and moving they do not bottom out.

"Though one footed jumping you don't seem to get very high without bottoming them out." - That was one thing I kind-of reacted to, they looked like they were already broken in. Is it the same spring or is it version two of that to?

Taking a step backwards here, its a real compliment when a retailer sends out a pair for free just to get some publicity and really shows how much global recognition the site gets.

Yeah it was really good of Michael at XtremeImportz.com to do this. I couldn't quite believe it when I got the email from him.

I'd be interested in some side by side, "scientific" testing to get a numerical comparison. like run 100m in the pros and your old stilts and see if one's any faster than the other, A height comparison.  However these may be skewed by the springs on the pros being brand new and not broken in. But it'd still be interesting to see.  I'm still skeptical that the extra hundred dollars is worth it to increase running speed, especially when i primarily use them for jumping.

Are they heavier than the original PoweriSers?

No if anything, tundrah, they're lighter. Though my original powerisers are all modded up which may make them seem heavier.

I like XarnuSonci's idea to do some measurements in comparison. That's my next task.
