My personal opinion about the PoweriSer 2007 calf cuffs:

Ok, i think i've tested them long enough to say, that they are ACE!
No pressure to your legs anymore and easy handling too.
If you wear a volley-ball kneepad below the cuff, stability is really good. Same as with the default knee bars.

Photos and a short video of how to fix and loosen them will follow tomorrow.

Sorry, but today is was too busy doing flips as i could think about taking videos Smiley
Ahh, btw... I bailed about 8-9 attempts... landed 1st... landed 2nd, landed 3rd... bailed 13 cos i allways didn't give enough power into launch.... maybe i haven't had enough power anymore after about 4 1/2 hours of very serious bocking. Videos will be provided tomorrow, only 2 short outtakes were taken today... bails... They will be in the video too, but not on their own. Smiley

Well back to the cuffs.

With the right technique of fixing them, they got the same... maybe even better stability as normal kneebars. Even modded ones as my bars have been.
Of course it is very strange using them the first time, but i think most bockers will love them after about 10hrs practising...
Just to like them... it only needs about 20secs Cool

Let's get on structured...

1. Setting them up:

As martin says in his video here:

http://www.PoweriserPages.com/forum/tutorial_put_on_tighten_the_calfcuffs-t1747.0.html

I got one point which a friend of mine found out works better another way.

Loosening them:

< Video will be added here 2morrow >

2. First try:

I, for myself was surprised how fast i liked them.
I've put them as low as i could get them and then tried.
I think... THE LOWER, THE BETTER... better ability to move. But that, everyone must find out by him/herself.
When they are too low, they  squeeze your muscle a bit... That's not the best feeling, so I've put them about 1 1/2 inches upwards... PERFECT

No pressure and as tundrah said: simply caressing your legs Smiley

3. My personal opinion:

I LOVE THEM

As I said a few lines higher, they provide excellent stability, caress your legs... No pressure and stuff.
They force your leg straight over the spring, if you set them up like this. (many more settings can be done. You can align your leg in the front-back and the side axis)

After about 5 1/2 hours bocking today i don't have a single mark on the parts of my legs where they were. Only on every other, where no padding was Smiley I bailed so d*mn often 2day... Man...

In my opinion with these cuffs hard covered knee padding is strongly recommended. I mean skatepads. The cuffs themselves DO NOT provide ANY protection to your knee as the bars do.

Another point which isn't that important but needs to be in a complete report:
You sweat a LOT.
That doesn't really matter because you can take off the padded foam inlet and wash it. I didn't do it till now, but will do so next week or something.

Things not so good:

Some stitchings are sharp. With the cuffs set up the wrong way, it could be 'cutting' in your leg abit. Not real cuts, but not the best. You can avoid this by just testing a bit in positioning the inlay so that it covers the stitchings.

Hmmm... that's all negative i can say by now.
Maybe i will find some more points in the future, maybe not.

My upshot:

ACE!

But need a bit to be set up the way you want them.

Not good if more than one use the bocks. Setting them up is fast once you know how to do it, but is annoying. Of course, if the length and shape of the two or more bockers legs are the same, it can be done easily

Additional information:
I will add some more points the next days... e.g. the fixation parts and so on.

Perfect review `esco, I agree with everything said. Also if you have thin legs (like me) it takes a while to get the velcro set up right first time, and occasionally if you're in a rush you might not get them down tight enough, so your leg wobbles around a bit (only done this once though, my fault for rushing it).
Also, when you take them off, undo the foot bindings FIRST. There is nothing to stop the stilt falling backwards if you undo the velcro first, so it drops away and the bindings cut into your feet. Not pleasant, but easily avoided Smiley

Other than that, they're excellent, I feel more secure in them and they put more pressure on your heels, so you get a bit more bounce (takes a bit of getting used to though, it's like being on 7's for the first time)

thanks Sprog for adding this point.
My legs aren't thin but even with strong calfs, it takes about half a minute to fix them right. per leg. if you got practice.

I hope i will be out bocking ASAP 2day!!!

then we will take some videos and a ton of pics of tricks and action. Ans of loosening them with less power needed as in martins video. Maybe you will be pleased to see that it can be easier too, martin Wink

Very nice review

I fully agree. Concerning better opening of the buckle I just pull the belt now in the opening direction, works way better, but I did not have that on video so I posted my old and more difficult version.

One thing, in my opinion the old knee bar does NOT protect your kee either since it is too low, I made this experience. Just that no one feels too save.

yeah, it's the thing with the belt, that i will capture on tape 2day. makes opening much easier.

ok i agree martin Smiley  the unmodded knee bars don't... mine have been twice in thickness than the originals, so they did protect my knee.

Mine cost me £81.50 to get them shipped over from `esco, that was including shipping though, so I expect they'll be about £65 without shipping

Ok, here comes my review of the calf cuffs. To make my review as comparable as possible with 'escos, I have tried to copied his format of writing. Also, I'm not going to debate with other reviews now, i'm just giving my opinion about them.

1. Setting them up:

I got them sent to me in a brown box, no logos or anything on it. Opened the box and sure, there they where, beautiful. One thing though, they are sent without any kind of instructions at all. Which means, you have to look at them for awhile to make sure you don't do any mistakes (which i did, but that comes later Wink ).

Setting them up was hell at first. I know, Powerskips have different holders for the kneeloop, but still, it was awful. Adjusting them is also not really easy, but now when I have done a few times, it's no big deal.

2. First try:

My real first try was on Swebounce stilts and that's the reason why I decided to order them. They where amazing I thought.

My first try on my own stilts was good experience to, after I had figured out how I wanted them. They are different from the kneeloop in terms of positioning. First, I put them to high, later to low......it took some time to figure out the right height for me, but when that was done, they are great. So don't be afraid of trying new settings for them.

There is some getting used to time to, but it goes pretty fast.

3. My personal opinion:

'esco: "I LOVE THEM"
zackiz: I agree!

They are really comfortable. They make your stilts feel like they belong to your legs in a totally new way.
No marks on your legs, which is a MAJOR improvement. Also, it's much easier to wear kneepads. The pads and the stilts don't fight about the space on your knee anymore Wink.

Speaking of kneepad. It was highly recommended to to wear kneepads with the loop. It's now even more recommended to wear kneepads because of the protection the kneeloop offered, that just isn't there anymore. There are some protection but not even worth mentioning compared to the kneeloop.

And yes, you will sweat alot. But ok, if you have made sure of "straitening" your pants under the cuffs as much as possible, that won't be a problem. To much crease on you pants can make your legs hurt some.

4. Things not so good:

I have fallen alot with them now(of course) and one time I succeeded in bending one tube. I bent it back as good as possible then and continued. I didn't think of it then but after I while, I realised them I had moved the pressure on my knees sideways Undecided and I had to rest form bocking for two weeks. I also have my suspicions about the knee problem is related to wrong adjustments of the cuffs(nothing I can say for certain). Some basic instructions about adjustments would be appreciated. I have now straitened the tube out now with tools.

5. Last minute words:

They are GREAT!...IF you have adjusted them right.  There are some problems with them, but the problems are overshadowed by the fact that the stilts are so much more comfortable now then with the loops(I'm not saying the loops are not comfortable). They are well worth their price.
