hey guys
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for a home made or portable crash mat, one that could fit in a car or truck. Or perhaps affordable prices for a good portable crash mat.

The YMCA (only place I've been allowed to bock in so far) dosen't open the gymnastics area to the public out side of their regular classes.
However, about 5 minuets away from my house, is a nice out dore black top basket ball court, with a chain link fence. I would love to practice flipping up there some time when Im more confident, and can jump with both bocks easily.

right now im just interested in
ideas, segestions, opinions etc...
thanks.

look into foam makers, chip foam is pretty cheap and is supposedly what some crash mats are made of, it looks like a good way to go, about $90 for a 3" thick twin bed sized piece, one or two of those should be enough for safe flipping

Also, we had an extra mattress lying around. I tested it out (on foot) by jumping and landing in a sitting position. From that low height, I went through and hit the ground. My tail bone hurt for a while.

Thanks for the help guys. :-)
I've thought about spring Matresses and air matresses, and Im a little worried about both, I think I'll end up shoping around and getting a cupple sturdy foam matresses, sooner or later.
