Avoid the Bois de Bologne after dark, its full of transexual prostitutes. Whilst it's amusing to go see them it can be a little dangerous. Avoid the Moulin Rouge, it only exists to get as much money out of stupid tourists as it can. Bocking by the Pompidou centre would be great for photos.

Hostel world is looking good looking at about £30 for the nite. There is quite a choice so Ill have to get a map out to go thru which would be best re the route

Sat 15th March  how does that sound? Its the w/e before Easter

Ferry leave Newhaven 2300 Friday nite. Takes 4 hours. So that is arriving early in morning. Its a couple of hours to Paris I reccon. Stop for an early breakfast/pop in super market to get a few bits and pieces for the day. Maybe a little warm up bock --and scare the whits out of a few people as they set off to work. Ill check route and find a nice lil town on the route. This will mean getting into Paris a lil earlier than is ideal. But means booking into hostel 1st is an option and dropping off unwanted kit ( tho i cant see us having more much than a typical modest back pack. Also a few could bock off to have a lil look at the arc d'triumphe, which isnt far from the Tour.

Leave Dieppe Sunday nite 1900. So Sat will be a long day. Id think get back to Bournemouth by 0200

As I said at start  this is primerliy being built around a trip from the southcoast. The idea being that if there is a similar interest groups would band together from other area . We also need to look at arrangements for independent travellers

A meeting in Paris for 2009 HuhHuhHuh

Underneath the Tower is gorgeously smooth tarmac, big open space and of course the photo op.

Who dug this topic back up LOL
Anyway last time we ended up with couple of different idea's
1 day or 2 days ?
Should it be for adults only so we didn't have to tone events up for kids to join !?
Do we meet up here and hire a coach get the train or make our own way there ?

I would like to go I could up brush French ( and I don't mean kissing  Tongue ).

One thing we didn't check is which side on the path they bock on  Grin

Why is he running Dad ?

But he didn't do anything wrong !
Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector . A Dark Knight.

I think we need to decide where in France is feasible to do this. We also need a fixer who, ideally, is native to the country and who can liase with les Gendarm if they appear. Also we'll need to get permission from La Marie to bounce around and to make sure we wont be clashing with any festivals or other events in the area.

Then we need to work out people's budgets, how much did you fork out for Capital Bocking ("down the bay" Wink ), did you just wince thinking about it? WOuld you be happy to perhaps double it for P*B08?

Accomodation, bocking areas, tourism for those who want to help towards any group discounts but dont want to necessarily bock. And the other slightly important factor of transport.

Now obviously a broadcast of "Everyone get to Dover!" isnt going to work for everyone even though it might be the easiest solution so I think it would be a good idea for, like CBWales, each area/region/team/crew/posse/gang/collective to arrange their own methods of transport to the target destination.

Other than that, Vive La France!

OO nice to see this back up again Grin .. Its been attempted a few times but nowt happened. But Im a firm believer that things happen 'when their time has come'.

Agreed Lukey a person in france would be good . indeed could let us know if there is a big fvrench meet planned- Ive seen a vid of a couple so assume there will be atleast 1 next year. Tacking onto a Frence event who make things v much easier and I think more fun.

I think I put a link to a Hostel website way back at start which looked pretty cheap. I think groups organising their own 'logistics' would be the most logical route, with individuals 'tagging on' where possible.

id not be interested in an adult only event ( others may feel otherwise - and no reason why there couldnt be 'parrallel events -which diverge in the evening) as I feel we are all equal.

I thought Newhaven actually looked the best port option -as it means the least driving on French roads and comes into Paris nearer the Tower than the dover route.

Dont forget tho peeps that there will probably be another mallorca meet next spring ( and if not I suspect some of us here would put 1 together). Aubria was unfortunatly close t CB last year but there is also that as a lil trip.

But I think big shout out to some1 in France ( pref paris) --'YOU GOT ANY BIG MEETS PLANNED --AND CAN WE JOIN IN'

You people are amazing, you are just going to sit back and wait for someone else to organise it. This is what happened with CB in the beggining, everyone chatting about it with no one prepared to take charge. I am not about so dont expect me to take this on, but one of you should step up to the mark and run with it. You dont need to be a local to organise this.....Google is your friend. I think it should be an adult only event unless minors bring their own adult chaperones, otherwise you are just asking for trouble.

if there's any meets outside of the country there should at least be an assigned chapperone for each person under 18, whether it's family or a trusted friend etc

...and knowledge of paris would be extremely helpful when organising something there, so someone in france to get on it, or at least help out whoever organises it with local stuff etc

i'd be up for going depending on when it is, and ifi still have a valid passport aswell Cheesy
