* pronounced the french way it sounds OK Grin

A few more suggestions

OK just a screen exerscise at mo. But here is the basic idea lets build a model for weekend in Paris. Goes like this ( all spelling is approximate)

Friday
17 seater mini bus with 15 people
Travels from Bournemouth picking people up on route
Ferry route Newhaven to Dieppe. Reason? Dieppe offers the shortest amount of driving in France and pretty well directly leads to...
Saturday
Bois de Bologne, park here ( make sure no racing at near by longchamps)
Eiffel tower ( meet proper starts)
Les Invallides ( where Napolean is burried)
Alexander II bridge
Place de la Concorde
Tuelleries Gardens. Lunch. The place is right bang centre of city, has Siene on 1 side and the Louvre on another
Ile de la Cite  and Notre Dame ( and I 'think' its near here you can see Rodin's 'the kiss' and the original Statue of Liberty ( yep the one in New York was bought and paid for by the French!))
Left Bank and Latin Quarter
Somewhere between here and Eiffel Tower is where a hotel need to be found.
Evening mix and match and options. Wonder off alone, caberet, clubbin, go to sleep, metro to Monmartre for some nite bocking you get the idea.

Sunday
Again options, linger in city or maybe  slight detour on way to ferry port to 'own' Rouen
Hyper market ( if room in bus )
Ferry and home

So questions questions  my 1st few. Please add your own --oh and please please do answer them as well ( doesnt matter if 'solved' more than once)

Date
Hire of van -cost, van dimensions ( for ferry booking), approx petrol consumption
Ferry, cost and sailing times ( so we can work out start time at the Tour)
Hotel biggest mystery at mo. Ideally we want something like the French equivalent of a Travel Lodge ( where 4 or more people and cram in for very little money) that would be extreme budget end --some could opt to find something a little better. So if you or someone you know has been to Paris recently  get the hotel info to this page please.
Tee Shirt design. As a basis, blue ( colour of french footie team) normal font for 'Capital Bocking' but for 'Paris' the same font/design as the Metro signs, dates to be in French. Anyweb addy (forum, club even myspace)

Get in touch with French bockers, simply nice to meet them, but also could be hosts/guides  and will know what the police are like etc

This meet WOULD be open to U18s. However, you will need to be accompanied by a 'willing' adult at the ratio of 1xA-2xU18. Not just simply do sums and say, yep enuff grown ups for the kids.

Once these found the model can be adapted, differing numbers of people or ferry terminal or start location etc

So please  please my pretties lets do it

Does it all add up?

Re: Accomodation, In france there are Formule 1 which are diddy motels. Or we can attempt back-packer lodges etc.

Re: Transport, I reakon a play on google or yell.co.uk will reveal coaches that do these runs so rather than hire our own we could book an existing service up?

I don't speak much French but I'd love to go !
Lukey if we are using a coach we better check about our stilts ?
Never been France before but what about rail links to Paris ?
And their under ground tubes if we need to travel any long distances ?

Re  Paris Metro Map  just google.  You get a nice little map  same format as London Tube
If using a coach  Stilts shouldnt be a problem. Ive taken mine on them domestically and other people take ski gear.

we will be bringing the RiserRaptor Jeep with at least 4 of us in there .. maybe 5.. weve done it before Smiley

so as soon as you set a date (please make it a month in advance) we can book it off work and we will follow your minibus over the sea.. as roscoff is a little far from where you guys land.

now all you need to set for us is a date.

Well my mum lived + worked in Paris for about 2 years, in the hotel industry so she may be able to recommend somewhere nice but cheap Smiley  Sounds good, if its far enough in advance I'm sure I can think of something that my school will let me off for a day for Cheesy

Perhaps in the Feburary of Easter Holidays?

Also how much is this likely to cost, i'm assuming if there's minibuses, we'll have to pitch in together for that, plus ferry costs, then there's hotel, food, drink, trains... How much (ish) is this likely to come too?

-All the following is purely for illustrative purposes etc, prices can go up as well as down, dont set fire to your pants whilst wearing them..."

Holla! Just ran "Paris short break" in Googillyoogle and got this - http://www.short-breaks.com/disney_one_day.asp?city=Paris&gclid=COiMotSh_Y8CFQ5OQgod5RXoMw - wot says "Paris Eurostar breaks with a one day pass to Disneyland® Resort Paris fr £175".
So could make a weekend of it. Prob with doing it in Feb half term (regardless of where in France" is that it is half term thus all the kids are out and prices are up too. Anyone who works in the education sector will appreciate this!

Quick flick on Short-breaks.com and I got this;

Grand Hotel de Paris - 2 adults
Travelling: Standard Class, Monday 11 February, from St Pancras, to Gare Du Nord
Accommodation: Grand Hotel De Paris in Paris for 2 nights (Standard Room)
Returning: Standard Class, Wednesday 13 February, from Gare Du Nord, arriving St Pancras
Single supplement of £25.00 per night if applicable
£ 134.00 per person

Yep, easter or 1/2 term looking good. prob witth latter is it varies a bit round country so I gotta make sure its the overlap w/e.

Ive got friday off and weather looks non to good. So Im going to do some serious work on it then and get some compaire and contrast stuff.

Travelling will never be a onesize fits all thing tho really as people are form such different areas. So Eurostar would be great for Essex. Its a no go from dorset seeing as there has to be a tube trip across London to and from Waterloo ( gonna be no fun on a Sunday evening).

If we bring sleeping bags or something we can all pile into one room, about 5 people and their stuff in a two person room sounds around right....

Do they let bocks into Disney land? Anyone up for a thunder mountain bock?
