Learning from the best, testing new material, additionally saltwater on the skin, a tasty cerveza or a vino tinto these were the ingredients for a more than successful weekend.

At the beginning we were struggling with some language chaos (several German and Austrian dialects, some English accents and Swedish) but the common interest in bouncing helped to get over it. We met on the weekend (around 12.May 2007) in Palma de Mallorca. I personally have to say it was worth while every minute. There was something for everyone regardless if beginner or pro.

Congratulations to all beginners, they learned a lot, even though some got a muscle ache. No wonder when I started the same happened to me. But everyone improved. Especially Mattias (swebounce) who bounces technique-wise better and more faultless than anyone else was a patient teacher who gave a lot of tips. He told about training of pros, about his performances and some anecdotes about what happened during performances. He helped everyone and was able to adjust to different skill levels, simply a nice guy, thanks Mattias. Due to that every pro (like B-Bounce team aka Zeb or Manni aka Mk or Chriz, a German) were able to improve flips etc. and also I (as a non-pro) learned some new tricks. I think the trick of this summer is going to become the Genie (who has a good picture?), this trick looks great and is not too difficult. Also we saw some spectacular falls (even from Mattias) some looked brutal but no one was injured.

Among each other we tested different stilts/ springs/ knee-fixations. Of course the latest S-Rex prototype was in great demand. Since 7league boots was not 100% satisfied with the former prototype (re durability) an even better spring had to be developed. I do not know how much I am allowed to reveal, since it is still a prototype in an intense testing phase, but imho it is going to be a burner (is this the right word?). Mattias (swebounce) also put them on and was seriously impressed. He made a series of flips on them that my jaw stayed wide opened. I hope the corresponding video will be published one point in time.

Some already arrived on Thursday and found the first bouncing locations at the harbour. During Friday all others arrived. At the Harbour on a lawn (falls do not hurt that much) we saw the first flips. B-Bounce made 7 flips in a row and he only stopped the series since we all shouted tree! tree! tree! which he would have hit with the next flip. In the evening we went to the bar Xorri directly located at the boardwalk. There we attracted a lot of attention while bouncing. The evening at the boardwalk was died away with beer, tapas and talk-shop, sigh, life can be so wonderful.

On Saturday a van caring tools, stilts, food and drinks accompanied us. After a one kilometre walk (or better a bounce-walk) on the boardwalk we arrived at an ancient fortress where our creativity contest took place. We had some (professional) Digi-cams and a HD-TV camera. There will be a lot of fantastic pictures and films. It is simply great scenery: bouncers in the air and the background the sparkling sea.

Unfortunately the trip was too short. A very, very big thank you to 7league boots and to Frank (the local dealer in Palma www.7depalma.eu) for the perfect organisation and for the sponsoring (free hotel and a big dinner together). During dinner busy discussions concerning further developments and improvements of the stilts took place. Some news where going around (unfortunately still top-secret). At least I can say the following there do not have to be any concerns about 7league boots advancements. All are conscientious and medically tested. Before readiness for launch everything (see e.g. S-Rex) is tested exactly and intensely.

It was a pity that some were not able to join us like Matt the moderator (he has exams) and Juhuv (a very good Austrian bouncer). But anyway, I hereby suggest that we repeat this come together next spring, or what do you think? It was a pleasure to get to know each of you since bouncing with like-minded people is twice the fun. One thing I have learned, in Spain siesta is taken very seriously therefore 5 minutes waiting time for a taxi can turn out to be one and a half hour. This weekend was a gorgeous time out from normal course of life. Some dudes are still there (envy).

Martin

PS: I hope to see many of you in Gothenburg

Well I was there so I guess Il add my little bit ( which as most of you know will be quite alot).

1st off Big Big THAnKYOU To Wolfgang and the 7  crew and to Frank our man on the spot. Just about everything was anticipated and prepaired for us all. Erm well with the exception of taxis - seems you need to email a booking a week or so inadvance. But that in itself lead to 1 or 2 not to be missed moments. If you can imagine a drug crazed German ( not 1 of our group Cheesy ) wondering the night time streets shouting out sexually motivated obscentities whilst we waited!

When we turned up at the castle (an artillery fortress C16-17th Id say) on the Saturday, there was the van waiting for us - with the water bottles  and fresh fruit being unloaded!! The castle should be renamed --' The Bocking Palace'. Steps, ramps, jumps, walls, nobody about, a good few trees for shade and naturally a tower. Yes there were jumps and flips above its crenellated battlements.

I know Martin has mentioned Mattais trying out the new S Rex ( yep it is real folks and looks like it will be on its way, not long to wait now) but Ill give you what I remember of that lil event. For me it was the best bit of the weekend. Imagine standing around chatting to friends. 'Swebounce' states 'I like these, they are great' then puts together , erm lets say, a few moves. Ill not spoil any video footage that will be coming along ( yep on HDV and a couple of other cams). Plus laying on the ground taking many still pictures was Wolfy ( Herr 7). When he got up and put the camera down - the smile on his face was amazing. Im sure he must have 100 teeth!

I mentioned there was nobody about here. Now that is good, but we also like to show off. So then it was time for food and an extended bock on the seafront ( see Martins 1st pix).

Then a wonderfull meal hosted by Frank in a courtyard resturant. This was followed ( once we had all got taxis Grin) by a suprising ligtening tour of the old city of Palma ( at 0200!) IT was fun it is the time to see the place --few people no horrible holiday makers Grin. The main square has to be bocked  and at that time at night too. After a coiuple more drinks we started to head back to our hotel in groups.

This is when things started to get a bit 'messy'. For once I was relatively well behaved and I guess I left earlier than most ( about 0330 Grin). Whilst again waiting for taxis , 2 of our number desided to have another 'little' drink or 6. They think they probably went dancing! The last of our very merry band got to bed at 0745!!

Please though if anyone goes bocking abroad, dont put any tools in your hand luggage   yep I had to leave them back at Palma airport d'oh.

On a much more serious note. Im sure everybody on the forum would like to wish Hemoves all the best of luck. The other 1/2 of Swebounce had a very serious fall in practice 2 weeks ago and has badly damaged his knee. He is due to undergo surgery this week.

Its a good trick and zeb does it so well (I know I know, how unusual for zeb right) but I dont think it will be the trick this summer for us, especially when so many are learning to flip.
