Yeah, well i'm slowly losing interest in the sport. I'm allways bocking alone as nobody in the area has bocks... and i think this is the cause of me losing interest. Anyone got a suggestion/advice?

cheers,

Kev

Try to linka meet to something going on in Liverpool like a fair, parade. give people lots of time to plan !?
It's a long way for a lot of us !?
I was thinking of a weekend in Blackpool ( maybe a meet ? ) to see the lights at night and run the " Golden Mile " and go on some of the rides.
It's a long way for most of us but add something special to a meet and people may come .  Smiley

ok I think its about going back to basics.

Use your PC to print off some cards or even use vistaprints free service. If you have no other contact details to put on them, put this forum.

Go bocking. Somewhere were its safe and most importantly has lots of people passing. Give out cards to everyone and anyone. We quite often give cards out to grannys and semi-dead people because they have young families. Just give them out.

Do this for 4 weeks. If you dont have at least 1 new bocker in that time then go with your first idea and quit Smiley

Hey mate, i havn't had chance to get to Liverpool in a while with work etc, but there are a few of us coming over soon, my Mum just moved into a new house so thats  one rason i have to come over, plus were doing an event in L pool very soon, something you might want to join in with i'l pm you about it,

there are some Bockers in Warrington, and there are more in Lverpool but im not sure if they are on the forum, i met them and told them about you, i thought they might have been intouch, also there are some on the other side of the Mersey, Birkenhead, Southport,

Bury isn't to far from you and i'l have a word with a group there they like to travel,

Try and organise another meet, and with this in mind im sure you will have a good one, i'l have a think about some stuf for you,

ps, for those that don't know Liverpool, there are some great bocking areas, near the pear head, and Albert Dock, plus there is a TV studio at the Alber Dock, im sure that would get a view.

Do take Lockys advise, thats a great idea, im sure that will work.
i don't know if you have a name yet, but, The Liverpool Bockers sounds good to me,

I'd agree that the best thing for you to get your spirits up is to go about in public with them more.  People will always be curious about them and you will eventually get others joining you.  Around here, when there is a local parade, you can always tag onto the end and walk along.  Would be fun just to bounce along at the end of a parade - even if you weren't officially in it.  Have you tried showing them to your school gym teacher?  Maybe you could get a jumping stilts club going at your school after hours.  You might even try approaching a local newspaper and tell them about your jumping stilts and explain that you are looking to start a local club.  They might run a lshort news article about you and get people interested.

Blackpool ? that'd be possible for me, only a short train journey and should be affordable.

cheers for that.  i'll see how things go in the next few weeks / months  and i'll take all this advice in and get the word round.

Thanks to everyone who replied to this post Smiley

it's put a few new thoughts in mind.

yeah, i'm at 6th form and a few of the lads in there have said they'll get some bocks.. but then they don't want them they keep changing there mind.

As for the gym, i've done alot of training in the college gym's but nothing seems to be cacthing on.

people question me about the bocks and i explain what they are and yes people do seem very interested and i give them information on where to purchase them, but still they don't bother

Yea, this is looking good, it could be the start of the Merseyside Bockers, i will defo help out, after all, its my home town, Scousy Bouncy looks like your getting a club started now, and im sure there are many peeps on here that will help out, with visits etc,

Pieforce, Hi, i remember my childhood days at New brighton, i bet there's some great bocking areas down near the Castle on the beach, now that would make a Great meet event.
