Got mine new the other day but when i used them the foam on the knee bar bit would often rub and sort of catch as i was walking, allthough it didnt realllly make a big difference/problem, it was a bit disconcerting, especially being very new lol, annnyways, with a sharp knife (carefully) cut the foam down on the inside leg bit, down to the metal and taped over it all to protect the metal (not very good at explaining, will upload a picture if you dont get it)
went out and it worked brilliantly, they didnt even touch and i felt a lot more confidant that i wasnt about to fall over ^_^
Dont know if anyone else has had the same problem, or done the same thing, but i found it has really helped, dont want to take them off now Cheesy

(edit after first reply)

lol, think i havent explained it properly....i meant that the foam rubbed against the foam on the other leg as i was walking, like knees rubbing against each other, if you know waht i mean...think ill have to upload a photo ^_^

(another edit!!)

Picture added a bit further down

Yea.. the knee bar can seem a little hard .. i think a lot of people dont mind them.. if you strap yourself in tight enough then they wont rum hopefully and therefor wont mater about the hardness Tongue

i padded mine out but  i realised that it made me do them up less.. and therefore they comeloose and rub more.. so in the end i didnt bother

if its worked for you then good job Tongue

trimming the foam seems like a perfectly good solution to your problem, make sure you tape it up afterwards to prevent further fraying.

cant look too good thow. mite look like its been ripped off i dont know. i would have just learn how to walk properly with them so they dont colide. also if your knees are coliding you may find your springs will. make sure you dont cut any of those off.

Lol, i dont think ill cut any parts of the springs no... heard theyre quite an important bit...  Wink

and yeah ive taped it all up, thinking of taping over all the knee foam to protect it

I think it looks ok, its not really noticable tbh, but its definately improved how i use them...id feel a bit like a cowboy walking with my legs wider lol!  Cheesy suppose it depends on how you stand naturally, maybe its a difference between how girls/boys stand?

anyways, picture...hope this helps explain what ive done and how it looks ^_^

looks good, i'd definately recomend taping the rest of the knee bar foam, cause it tends to get beat up when you fall.

Ive taped up my springs with electrical tape stuff, think il do a few more layers though, and I've seen someone put tree bracing on with I thought was a good idea, looked like it took a long time though, taking them all apart, but worth it I'd imagine.
Definately want to convert to snowboard bindings, and I'm going to put tyre socks on too, only got them recently but those are my plans

As for colour I'm not sure...black goes with everything Cheesy

yeh but black is the standard colour and is a bit boring go for orange or purple. search for PVC tape on google and you'll find lots

Lol, i dont know, maybe tape the springs silver, but i want to keep them reasonably plain, im planning on doing a lot of festivals in them, so theyd have to look good with lots of different outfits/colours , so black keeps it simple  Smiley
Have seen some very cool looking ones on the site though!

Silver spray paint sounds good actually, or even to spray them all black...hmmm....
Festival wise (and money permitting) were thinking Download, Leeds, and a friend of mine wants to do Glade and some one that her brother organises, cant remember what thats called, also a little one in a village called Cropredy (Fairport Convention Festival if anyones heard of it? )
Be good to get a big group together, prolly better organising later in the year, there will probably be other posts popping up about it
Cant wait till summer... *sigh*  Smiley
