Hey,
I wonder what technique people use to gain height when bouncing around.
I tuck my knees right in and try to push my legs down, which gets me slightly higher- but I can't get beyond a certain height at the moment because I find it hard to stay balanced when I push down with too great a force.
Perhaps this is because I am a little light for my PR7090s...

Typical, i'm probably lighter than you so I can see myself struggling.  Is there anyway to preload the Powerisers with some extra weight?  Like some of those wrist weights or ankle weights?  Failing that maybe you can get some replacement springs.

Well, Its all a matter of ride. Just like a diving board, a 100 pound kid could potentially jump much higher than a 200 pound man just because he knows how to ride the diving board correctly. I dove for several years and when i got my first set of powerisers I bottomed them out within hours, so i upgraded to the 7090's and i can still bottom them out.

So teach yourself to push down at the exact time you land on the ground to have a smooth and powerful spring back up. Its not something you can learn from anybody else, you just have to feel it for yourself.

Great tip Skipper, thanks for that. Thanks for registering too.

It is a matter of pushing down when landing- and having the balance to deal with the push back up that you experience, I guess.

I cant remember where i saw it i think it was on sky runners (which closed to lack of intrest) it was a guy who pushed down as he landed and lost balance and his right     got fully compressed and the left     didn't and he flipped to the side (barrel roll) and broke his leg so be careful

I can only imagine what breaking your legs in these things would be like.

I can only imagine what the doctors would say, and i can only imagine how the ambulance drivers would react to removing them from your leg.

I can picture them taking some sort of pneumatic saw and cutting them off of your legs.

I'd probally cry, and tell them that i'll remove them from my legs myself, albeit a little painfully!

that is the best advice i have ever read, i cant wait to jump back on them knowing this.

I also find that when i bend my knees at the top of my jump rather than lock them, that helps greatly as well.  It gives you extra elevation, and somewhat more downward force it seems.

I'm starting to push the envelope as to how high i can jump.

Seems like 4 feet so far, is my limit.

I'm really keen on improving my jumping, I've noted in my diary this and I think I just need to get some balls and just push harder, its the balance I'm concerned about. As in, if you jump high and your left leg throws out then your arms flail to recover/account for this.

Its all learning!!
