I've had a bad back/neck for a few weeks now.  I keep getting on my bocks and running around even though I only get to 99% and aggravate it back to 70%.  see a doc if it's hard to do normal activities.

Take that time off and ice it.  I think Ice is your friend. heat is for the hot tub.

back pain is not something to take lightly, if it continues much longer you should def go see a doc and make sure everything is alright, you can explain bocking to them and that people told you it was strenous on your back, but it shouldn't be that bad.

I dunno if its really a big deal. I mean, ever since i hurt my back a while ago, like before our boston meet, im still feeling it. ive actually gotten quite used to it. and dont worry, ive been to the docter, they took xrays and everything, there was nothing. Ive been out on my bocks several times, ive carryed my heavy bookbag to school, ive carryed out my normal life, it seems fine, nothing more than a dull pain, and if its anything more, then one or two pain killers and im good to go.

I hurt my back 2 weeks ago on a Rola Bola.  Probably not the same thing as Bocker's Back, but the pain has gone away over the last 2 weeks.  I should be getting my bocks this week, so we'll see if I experience any starter's pain as well.

If it really hurts though, don't aggravate it any further and maybe get it checked.  As others stated.. you only have one back!

I suffer from Sacroiliitis so I am permenantly on painkillers to control it.

You're back is fairly important, so at the first signs of continuous pain you should get it checked out. I can tell you now that living with a horrible back pain which prevents you from walking properly amongst other things, which no idea what is causing it, is not a happy time.

It took me something like 2 years to finally get a diagnosis and a treatment that works, so don't delay. Get checked out today.

(see what I did there?) Cheesy

Make sure you go through your GP first. He will recommend the best course of action, because sometimes physiotherapist or chiropractors aren't the best first port of call (which I found out the hard way. Weeks of physio which just aggravated the problem).

you can go to a physiotherapist (PT) there with out a prescription?  Here in the US you cant go see a PT without first getting a prescription for it from an MD.  My dad was a PT.

Chiropractor.... if they dont offer to Xray first RUNNNNN as fast as you can from the office no matter how much it hurts.

Yes coach, you can. It's stupid but some PT make loads from not really doing anything.

As it turned out, I was referred to the physiotherapist after my doctor couldn't find anything wrong with me. It wasn't untill I saw a specialist who x-rayed me a bunch of times and did a number of other tests that I was finally diagnosed.

On the subject of Bockers Back - I'm getting back pain but I'm pretty sure it's just muscular and will pass.  It's a ache in the upper back that I can feel with every bounce.  It only came on yesterday and I'm new to Bocking so does this sound like the kind of thing most people experience at first and if so what should I correct?
Cheers

to fix it you just have to take a few days off, let your back adjust to the new stress and then get back to it, but if you still feel it when you get back on, you haven't waited long enough, take it easy for the first week or so

Do you have any known of back problems?
I have scoliosis and I experienced that problem one day. It was agonizing. It has gone away now, and all I have to do is make sure I don't sit wrong or else the pain will come on.
How bad is your pain? If it isn't to the point where you cant bounce, just rest. It should go away. Look into it if it continues.
