Hey guys,

To begin with, sorry if this isn't the right place for this, I'm not really sure where to put it. Found this board yesterday, and have spent all day reading various posts  - but no-one seems to have asked what I'd like to yet.

I found this website: http://www.springz.co.uk/index.php That sells Powerisers in the UK (I read some post about patents prohibiting that? So was quite pleased). I'm all prepared to get the protectors, the (like the paranoiac I am) spine protector and the boots themselves - but there is a *lot* of discussion on these boards about modding your boots. People say the shin/knee brace is uncomfortable and that you have to make your own....I just saw one terrifying post where someone was using a drill to mod theirs!

I don't really have the know-how, time or money to do any of that. Buying the boots themselves is going to break me, but they look so damn funky I can't quite resist. Also, should be a nice new way of exercising.

I've read here that the 2007 models go some way towards fixing the problem of the straps and braces, but the website I listed above doesn't note what model they're selling. Is it really worth buying them? Do many of you use them, just straight out the box? I'm also 20 and *extremely* light - hovering around 50-60kgs, and I noticed some discussion about the benefits of different weight bands. I'd like to go running in them mostly, for exercise, a couple of jumps here and there just for variety, but nothing remotely showy. Any recommendations?

The more perceptive amongst you may have noticed that I must have already read about this stuff to mention it in this post, and that's true (well done you!). But...well.....I didn't really understand it without it being explained, idiot-stylee.

Any advice on any of this would be greatly appreciated - it's always dodgy intruding yourself on a new community with such a terribly noob-like questions, but you all seem like cool people, and I can't wait to get them and start running.

(If, of course, it's worth the hassle Cheesy)

Cheers,

Sam.

well, assuming your legs aren't a weird length, you shouldn't really need to do any major mods at all.  What most people do to hold their knee more securely into the knee loop is to either buy a length of webbing and wrap it round or buy Pinhead69's (on the forum) straps as they do the same thing but have clips so are easy to adjust and put on next time.

Also important to note is that that site is selling PoweriZers, not poweriSers, two diferent brands, awkward I know Wink.  Also its only the 2007 models which arent available in the UK yet due to patent troubles with the new knee loop but other than that you can buy practically any other proper brand in the UK.

Weight wize, if you are closer to 60kg or above then its probably bes to get the M70s but if you are right down at 50kg then I would have thought the M60s would be fine.

Thanks very much for your reply Smiley

Is it worth waiting for the 2007 model to be released here or ordering it from abroad?

Are they that much better?

Have you contacted the site and asked for what they EXACTLY sell / photos of stock? That could help your decision.

TBH, if buying these at the moment will break the bank then the 2007's will REALLY do it in. Plus abroad shipping fees - get the postage insured if you do go to order from abroad.

I'll have some more cash in soon enough - I just didn't want to be committed to a long string of modifications.

Can anyone recommend a foreign website to purchase the 2007s from?

If buying from abroad you should check first that the retailer selling them is actually allowed to sell them to the UK.

Second, I'm not sure if this is what you said but if springz.co.uk dont actually know for sure what model they are selling then maybe you should look for a retailer who knows a little more about their products.

Sorry for the confusion - I just sent springz a query regarding what they sell.

As much as the 2007s look amazing, I may just get something else. I imagine that most of the people here don't have them, and you all seem very happy.

It was just the knee pads that appealed...

McTom - Thanks for the advice, I'll check em out Cheesy

As MCTom said, 7Leagues are currently the best "cheap" brand in the UK.

Nobody will sell you the PR2007's as that would be infringing on the patent and this will put them in serious trouble with the patent owner, not sure what actually happens if you infringe the patent but it can't be good! Cheesy

Heeeey.... Has anyone noticed springz are using photos of kiola? But they have given him credit!

I bought my PoweriZers from springz.co.uk and they are great quality, i have deffo got my moneys worth. Most people say 7Leagues are the best,,, the only thing i think are good about 7Leagues is that they last slightly longer but you cant get the best performance out of them unlike Powerizers. Powerizers you get better height...

In summary you can buy a pair of 7Leagues which are more expensive but last longer or you can buy Powerizers which are almost half the price which have better performance, (you could buy 2 pairs for the same price as 7 Leagues if your lucky)

you reckon you get more height out of PoweriZers than 7leagues permenantly?  Shocked  Or just that you personally get more height with your rizers than with someone else's 7leagues?
