i've been on upwings, PoweriSer 2007's and Velocity stilts, all the model's available with cuffs, In my opinion, the upwing is the worst cuff out there, but they're still a lot more comfortable than knee bars.  Upwings are however the lightest bock i've been on at about 7 lbs each

The upwings cuff slides up and down, tracking on two parallel tubes attached at the footplate.  Totally different design than conventional calf cuffs.  I don't see how you could replace them with something else.

Hey Cube,
I think what you are doing is great. Not something I'd be up to, but hey, it's our uniqueness that makes this world great. I'd just go with what everybody has said and try a few days of 8-10 hours of bocking in a row to get a feel for what you might be able to average. Someone said 36ish miles (think that's approximately 60 km) is closer to what you'll average. When I was in a group where we ran everyday (even finished a half-marathon during that year) we did a group walk of 55 miles. It took us 24 hours, and we were all in extremely good shape. So doing the math you figure we averaged about 2 miles or so an hours until you realize in the later hours we had to break for approximately 30-60 minutes on a regular basis. And we were all in excellent condition. So you'll probably average 4-6 miles an hour on a good day after you get going. Just consider that while you're getting ready. But I wish you the best and look forward to seeing your progress.
