It might have a slight effect on performance, mostly because they seem to be less comfortable and have a little wiggle room. It may be somewhat irrelevant, but I do think it is a good idea, because you always want to have controls.
Besides, its easy to swap out the bars. Smiley

after calculating all the extra charges that may aply that i know of, 7's would end up costing me about $600 with EVO bindings.  ill try and see if i can get some sort of deal for them.

evo's as 7's sell them are a rip off, you can get similar bindings from a snowboard shop (your in VT shouldn't have any trouble finding one) for prolly about $10, some people have been given them for free, that should save you like $40 unless the mark up is less from austria than it is from the UK.

Nick ive been to many snowboard shops and it is surprisingly hard to find a cheap pair of bindings.  they dont want to sell anything cheap.  the cheapest ive found is $60 which is a lot more then EVO's.  im going to try to get a deal on the 7's so they dont end up costing me $600, i dont know if he will accept the offer though.

the trick is to not buy full bindings just buy them as spare parts, you don't need ladder straps, really all you need is ratches but better straps to attach them to with more padding is nice too.

the problem is that no one want to sell me just the ratchets and padded straps.  they all say that they dont sell their spare parts, they keep them to fix regular bindings.  the EVO bindings would only cost me $30 so its not too bad.

I doubt it, 7's are very strict on their pricings. I know when Locky was selling them he wasn't allowed to give anyone a discount.

it does not hurt to ask but they won't give you a deal
If they did you would tell all of us and we would want the same deal
you got, and then the problems start. He will loose the right to sell 7's

he cant lose the right to sell 7's.  the person im buying from is the owner of 7's, im buying directly from the source, not a second hand dealer.
