Alex,
You can adjust the height of the knee bar. I have mine set so the strap is right behind my knees. It does mean bending my knees past 90 degrees is impossible, making walking up big steps a bit of a challenge.

One of the forum contributors, soulshredder666, has a hyperlink in the signature to Max's Knee Brace, which may help you. I shall be upgrading my own when my Round Tuit is delivered. The velcro strap is not well-designed, to say the least. Note the neoprene knee pads that Max uses as well.

You definitely need your leg to be tight against the knee bar. Any movement at all will cause blisters which will keep you off  for weeks  Sad

Nate,
I used to experience that, but I solved that by taping foamy pipe insulation to the knee bar and making sure I always wear long trousers when powerising.
Have you modified the knee bar at all yet? Is it worth getting the alan keys out so you can manouevre it into a better position?

Cut down wetsuit legs seem to work well. They need to extend lower than the lower extent of knee pads.

I think the knee buckle arrangement is very shoddy. The metal ring digs in and causes a burn/blister/abscess, and it's almost impossible to thread the knee strap around all the knee padding.

I'm currently experimenting with long, wide webbing instead of the comedy velcro strap.

Hmm, i like the wetsuit idea... but they make neoprene knee/shin pads already.  661 (six six one) is one supplier of such materials.

Seems cheaper than wrecking a wetsuit.

I personally hate the knee buckle arrangement too.

When i get paid next, i'm going to get ahold of some sort of shin-guard... re-inforce it with a steel plate, add two ratchet type straps, and make a custom leg plate, to act as a "Sandwich" assembly to apply even pressure to the front and rear of my leg.

This would effectively remove the knee loop, and any sort of cloth or fibre strap from the equation, and still provide more than sufficient support in which to be able to use them easily.

What do you think of this?

I like the idea of eliminating the knee brace and replacing with a shin guard, as long as it's sturdy enough to handle rough usage. i'd be interested in seeing your finished product, if you actually have done anything to this effect. I personally notice that when I put my powerisers on that my leg doesn't make much contact with the back pad, because of the strap pulling my leg forward into the knee loop. I can see the benefits of your design, making a tighter, more secure fit. I also like the idea because you could create a hinge on one side, and I wouldn't have to take my shoes off to get my feet through the loop then put them back on once my foot is in. (I can't fit my foot with my shoes on, they are just too big.) Also, I think it would be nice, because my calves are bound to get bigger after using my powerisers for awhile, and they barely fit thru the loop right now.
interested in your upgrades,

I noticed that right after posting, but I've been given some really great ideas - I hope to take dominion's brainchild and run with it.

Re: no knee loop/bar

Im' also going to do this.. when I do i'll take some pics.. hopefully it turns out good!

Take the grinder to the loop.. and make a "upwing" style calf brace thing..with velco.. and nylon..or something etc haha .. ive seen horse boots ..(boots they put on horses legs when travelling in a float) .. a couple of carbon fiber strips bolted with the horse pads (modified horse pads?) and should have something better than a padded metal loop!

maybe? ill take pics.. end of this week.. maybe!haha
