A year ago to the day ( 06/07/08 ) I announced I was making a new type of stilt call FUSION

Most people get stilts 25% more than their weight but the biggest springs you can get are 120Kg. For anyone over 120Kg their option are too limited. 120Kg plus 25% is 150Kg well beyond any spring made. The sizes that you can get made fine for small people but we are not all built the same ?

I built Fusion with two spring to push the upper limit to near double for heavier people, remember not all big people are fat, and even if they are fat why can't they be allowed to bock too ? Don't we say Bocking gets you fit !

Before you reply with some stupid reply like " Why not diet ! " some people don't have that choice !
My brother died because the drug he had to take f##king up his body so much he gain too much weight.
Fusion would have been something like I'd have made for him so he could have bock with me
  Cry

Fusion so only a test to see how they would react and what I need to do/change to get a pair working, so Fusion is a little ruff and ready.

UPDATE

Today I'm announcing that I rebuilding Fusion and making Fusion~DNA-Evolution. This should be ready by Xmas and may even be more powerful !

DK, why build the next generation of fusions when you have yet to prove that the previous ones worked other than for walking?

Don't even go there, you've obviously had far to much to drink to even mention such a thing.. Don't you understand what DNA fusion is...

I wish you the best of luck with this. I always wondered why they don't make springs for the big and tall set. Bocking should be for everyone, not just those up to a certain weight limit.

It will be interesting to see how the actual strength of the spring relates to its weight category.  Do two 60kg springs equal one 120kg spring?  Or are they less or more?  Spring strength may not be linear in comparison with the weight they're made for.

I agree with you on that Frank, I dont think two M60s will equal an M120, more around an M90, and also the springs need to be centred perfectly to ensure equal weight distribution between the two.

By basic maths you would think that two of the same weight range equals double that, but having done AS level physics, I'm 90% certain it wouldn't due to it being an exponential increase as a spring. I would imagine leaf springs are the same as normal springs, a spring twice the size doesn't necessarily mean twice the power, as the increase is exponential, not linear.

I understand that doubling the spring size may not double the weight it can handle, but I'm guessing two same springs next to each other will exactly double the weight handling capability.

Think about it...   If two springs together (twin springs) on one stilt are supporting 120kg, then each spring would be supporting an equal 60kg of weight.  Put a 120kg twin spring setup (60kg+60kg) on one stilt and the same on the other stilt - and I think you will have two stilts with spring properties for a 240kg individual.

But I do think there might be more of a problem when the spring reaches its weakest point in the flex at full bend.  At that point, the 4 springs might be too weak to support the weight.

Just my opinion.  I could be wrong.
