Those are very good flips if only I could even get enough height to be able to flip let alone actually flip.

not much hight is needed to land a flip, aslong as you get the rotation Smiley

as for the video, good flips Smiley

Nice example of how one should concentrate on mostly height after running up to and planting for a forward flip.  Very smooth.  You make it look easy.

To say concentrate on "height" in my experience ends up to backfire on ya.  while you want height.. the primary thing that keeps you off your head is rotation balanced with height.  Concentrating on just height might begin to cancel rotation and that gets dangerous

IMHO your concentration needs to be a take off position:

1.  with an erect upper torso. That will give you your height..
2. Hoofs planted ever so slightly infront of you. This ads to height and creates rotation by forcing the hips up and BACKWARD.  Dont get confused. On a front flip the hips circle backward and upward first before rolling over the top and rotating forward to the landing.

Max'l demonstrates this very well.  His flips are high because his hips rise in back puting his center of rotation around the area of his chest.  The common method of  chest being thrown downward encourages rotation around the hips which on most of us is a good foot below our chest.

the front flip at the onset of the below video posted here is a good example of this on stilts. The bouncer managed to get his rotation point up to his head which is why it so high.  Nicely excecuted.

So just concentrate on erect torso and hoofs ever so slightly infront on the punch for the flip.

Even with a decent run up to it?  Seems to me you would still have enough forward inertia to assist the rotation if shooting for height on the last plant.  I wasn't talking about an in-place forward flip after a few in-place bounces.  I would think those are tougher and pose more under-rotation risk with possible injury.

even if you run into the flip... if you dont have experience with late rotating flips, it can end disastrous... if you just concentrate on height, you have to lean backwards on the takeoff quite much and really reach up, then tuck as explosively as possible, to get the rotation going... it looks easy, and if you get the hang of it, it is not that hard, but for the first few tries, its scary as hell Smiley

There was something just not right with this vid, i can't put my finger on it...... oh yeah

PUT SOME PADS ON, DUUUUUUDE!

Otherwise yeah, very clean and only needing one pre-jump which is great. Ususally you see maybe 2 or 3 warm-up jumps till the rerquired height is met but to do it off 1 jump is great. Well done.
