Hey guys i did one in college yesterday, totaly unexspeted i tell ya that, i was watching some videos i downloaded from http://streetgadgets.co.uk and i was thinking it does not look to hard to pull off, so i told my friends i would try one outside after class, of coures when i got out there i was, well lets say i need a new pair of pants. Anyway i was going to wimp out but then i just thought way not, if somthing happens people are around to do somthing so i went for it, started jumping as high as i could to start with and then did a back flip as i would do on a trampaline and wala, i got to say now ive done it i cant stop thinking about doing more and more Smiley Smiley Smiley

I read somewhere that if you can't do it without the Powerisers you won't be able to do it with them.  Is this true?

I remember when I was at school we had a harness when on the trampoline so that when attempting forward or backflips somone could hold you up from falling on your head or face.  That would be ideal.  Does your school have anything like that Matt?  Maybe you could practice.
I have a large circular trampoline at home so when I get mine I may practice on that first.  Is there a particular technique we should be following?

I dont mean to come across as been big headed, but by the sounds of it, im bout the only person tht can help u on this... When i was bout 3, i learnt how to do back somersaults, the way i got taught was to imagine a milk bottle suspended above and infront of you in the air, then jump and thrust your hips forward, as if your tryin to put ur c**k into the milk bottle. but when ur gettin ready to do the back somersault, look at one spot infront of you, then when you do the somersault try to look at tht spot for as long as possible, ie. move ur head quickly backwards to look at the spot again to see you landing an prepare yourself for your landing. Now that probably comes across as really hard, but its not honest, but remember iv got 16 years of experience under my belt. But its one of those things that feels really wierd to start with, and it scares the hell out u to try it, but once u have done it, you wonder what all the fuss was over. I hope tht helps, if anyone needs anymore tips for gymnastic type moves, just ask!

Thanks Chris I think that is going to help quite a few of us in the weeks to come.  I have been out on the trampoline this afternoon but didn't have the guts to back-flip.  Might get one of my friends to try and spot me when I try.

no prbs guys, thats the best way to learn, get a mate to spot you, and its gives you a lot more confidence, and if it does look like you're bout to come down on ur head, get them to basically slap u on the chest or the back of ur legs when ur upside down, obviously, and it will give u a bit more rotation, to hopefully get u round. But just go for it, and im sure ul be ok, and then its just a case of getting used to it. But one last tip... NEVER, i mean NEVER, just throw your legs forwards and ur head backwards to do a back somersault, because all you will do is flop backwards onto the top, and back of your head, and your body will just pile ontop of you, and trust me, it bloody hurts!!!

I used to be able to backflip when I was at school without the safety harness but never could front flip,  IIRC I could never get enough rotation, we are now talking about 10 years ago mind.  I feel so old!  I'm really unfit its untrue.  You don't realise how fit you were when you were at school.  All i do is sit in an office all day.
