hello guys, now i know that there must be a thread somewhere on the forum about front and back flipping, but i cannot for the life of me find it!
anyway, i recently went with my mate kiola to train for a bit with the pro-jump display team ( really great people ) and got to properly learn how to frontflip ( without totally messing myself up ) and after coming back to sunny plymouth i pretty much mastered it (no vid yet though, blame kiola ) i really beleive in sharing the knowledge, but i was wondering what different peoples methods were for front and back are, cos i have seen guys that sort of dive forward and flip and then guys that totally launch themselves into the air and ( seemingly) slowly turn themselves gracefully landing on their hooves, and do you reckon its best to land with legs slightly bent or let the springs take the bounce more, personally my method is a mix of the two, and my 'backflip'(which i havent landed too cleanly yet, pretty close though!) is more of a sweep past the knees and tuck quickly method, and in both front and back i tend to cover alot of distance, is that good in your opinion or bad?
tell me what you think guys, i reckon we can all be doing flips with advise from one another!

there is a short vid of kiola with a bit of me at the end, everyone needs to ignore my feeble attempts at flipping in the vid, it is how i began and i have since gotten better(thank God)
i am attempting my first front off the matts, so no soft landing, i will be flipping over a thin rubber flooring though, so one step at a time.

Ive just started lerning front flip on tramp ( un week 2 on tramp so  pretty chuffed) so early days. Instructor ( i tolder her about the risers so she seems to b chucking out all the seat drop stuff out of the window -- so hint to peeps if going for tramp lessons  it will cut out bits u dont need) seems to go 4 the full long legs no tuck action.

For doing it 'real time' outdoors m looking at places with a 'drop' to give me more time/space to swing over. So the sk8 park looks good as it has spots that go from 41/2 - 2 foot drops . 1 good thing about being a postman im used to getting up early  so no probs 4 me getting there b4 any1 else so im not watched  Grin   \tho i might 'phone a friend' un tell um that if i dont phone them back in 5 min ---call an ambulance Roll Eyes.

But seriously I dont know if i will ever get there ( im 42  im not sure my body can still bend enuff quickly enuff)  but im gonna really try and im havin fun trying already.

Thanks 4 starting this thread and sharing.

I guess the flip  is the '180' of bocking  cept for us it '360'!!!!!!!!!

well we aint qualified, but evilmark and I taught ourselves to do flips from scratch. Which means we have gone through pretty much every problem involved in learning by ourselves and found ways around them that suited us. If you could get a video up of your flips, i might be able to point out some things that might assist in making them easier.

Would people appreciate me and evil maybe making a few tutorial videos for how we do them?
