So, what kind of injuries have  all of you sustained?

Last night I slipped on sand, and laid myself out on the pavement.

Luckily I was wearing gloves and arm/elbow guards, and didn't get hurt.

I did however get hurt, when I fell forward without knee protection, last week.  I took the misconception that the knee padding bars would protect my knees.  That was erronious.

Needless to say, the kneepads are on the way.

What kind of damage have you done to yourselves?

I injured my elbow somehow but that seemed to take a day or two to hurt and was gone by the next day so I have no idea what I had done.

i luckily have never *touches wood* had a fall on powerisers! i once jarred my knee, it sort of bent the wrong way, but that was all. i dont however perform radical stunts so i really shouldnt be falling over anyway Smiley

It's pretty hard to fall.  It's only because I push myself to pull things off.  If you don't know you never know.  If I'm going to try lots of new stuff I put all my pads on.  If not it's usually just the shin pads and wrist guards I use.

Does anyone else use shin pads?

i only have used wrist pads, but really should use helmets, can never be too safe, but like i said, im too much of a wuss to do flips or anything Tongue

i cant imagine shin guards being all that useful unless you run into a outstreched branch, which is lying at shin height....quite unlikely. if you are going to fall, your shins arent gonna get hurt, but joints, e.g elbows etc. will get hurt first.

I pull the shin pads I have up to my knee so they are in contact with the bar and not my leg directly.  When I fell on steps they avoided a nasty injury.

I'm kinda pissed off, i'm STILL waiting for my knee pads to arrive, (2 weeks later)

so, i called Six Six one, and upgraded my order to the next set up, and had them upgrade shipping to 3 day, for free.

I laid myself out last night, on sand... and because i had the elbow/forearm guards, i didn't get hurt at all.  Otherwise, i'd be bandaged up from wrist to elbow right now.

I find that i'm able to snap wrist guards.  They are usually pretty frikking sharp too, when it happens.  EVERYONE be careful with those things!  They scare the crap out of me, and make me really apprehensive to wear them.  I'm just wearing gloves, and elbow/arm pads.  That's enough for me.

Aww, that's is certainly a far-from-ideal situation! I think the lesson to learn is not to bring them to school!

Hope your injuries get better, and that video gets deleted!

I find that when i stretch a bit, and then bound around a bit at a slow pace, i'm able to bounce higher and dash about longer.

I've only fallen twice.

Once was on sand, and i landed on my butt, and elbow pads.

Thankfully the elbow pads broke the ENTIRE fall... and i got up without a scratch.

However, the first time was when i first got them... and stuck my foot into a pothole.  I landed on my knees, tore the knee padding, and mis-aligned the entire top assembly.  I ripped my pants, and cut my knee pretty badly... and bled everywhere.

It surprisingly didnt hurt much at all.  It was totally worth it.

I've been staying in control and just pushing myself a little at a time lately to learn my limits.
