Body's rather erect at each landing between flips.  Good for you.

Arm's are not helping lift. but it's a GREAT start.

thanks geo, i don't like throwing my arms up as i always seem to travel back a long way, but you're saying use them for more lift? I'll give it a go Smiley . Have you got any other tips? I find i could do more, but i always seem to travel around the tramp a bit, and end up on an edge...

With an erect landing (feet under you instead of infront or behind  you) you should not travel.

On tramp.... and I suspect bocks too, the arms coming down as you approach the landing helps drive the springs to full downward compression. On the rise of the springs the arm lift helps lighten you thus allowing the return in the springs to throw you higher in the air.

Problem is our arms are not fast enough to react at the same speed as the springs so its sorta a compromise..... as one descends  their arms should swing downward to help out down forces... your arms start the lift back up as you contact the bed, sometimes sooner,  Ideally you would not lift arms till the tramp is throwing you in the air but unless you got dead tramp springs that return slow... were just not fast enough, thus the earlier start.

What I have not  fully decided on yet is if Bocks are more like tramp or more like tumbling when it comes to arm technique.

In tumbling because the rebound is soooo fast you dont swoop the arms down to help with compressing the springs in the tumble mat..... there is not enough time to get the arms back up.   In tumbling between bounding skills you just make sure you got your arms up by your ears as you contact the ground and reach upward as you go into the skill then move the arms into position (grab legs or wrap for twisting etc etc).

Springboard diving is another place to watch how athletes use the downward swoop of the arms in the  preflight to board contact. The want to push that board down as far as they can ride it to get maximum lift off the board as it returns.

I've watched the vids of bockers with intrest to see who is naturally using what arm style.  Not knowing how soft or hard each users springs feel to them makes it hard to decide which method has the most biomechanical advantage.

personally i'd say bock springs are more like a trampoline, so use your arms in that way, its just if you're on overpoered springs etc they react quickly, if you time it right methodical arm flailing still works

il have to video myself on trampoline and bocks and have a look at what i do, as i don't really think about it, i guess...Smiley

I'd love you have to try my trampoline some time.
I'd love to see the little brats over the road jaws drop when you start doing flips LOL.
