So awhile back my daughter and I were watching tv when a commercial came on for the Discovery Channel.  There were a number of quick snippets in the commercial including a half second shot of someone on jumping stilts.  My daughter said "Hey Dad that could be you".

Well, yesterday it WAS me!!!  Dominion and I were asked to help film a segment about jumping stilts for a new "green" technology show called G-World on the Discovery Channel's new Planet Green network.  We invited Vlad along to help out as well as Liz, a friend of Dominion's who is relatively new on stilts.

We all met in Washington Square Park for the shoot where we started out by teaching bocking basics to the show's two hosts and getting them acclimated to the Powerisers.  Once confidence in balancing was reached, we broke for a quick lunch -- and then it was off for a bock through the streets of Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan.  We had loads of fun and drew loads of attention - especially doing it with a film crew that was filming the entire jaunt.  When we got back to the park, Vlad and Dominion performed some acrobatics for the cameras and crowds.  (My knees were pretty shot by then.)  It will probably take a few months before the segment airs, but hopefully we will get a copy of it.  Filming was from 9:30am to about 4pm.  It was a great day.  And boy, was I tired.

I'm just curious- I know I probably won't get the coveted postcard because of what I consider B.S. with the filming (I'm not getting into it) but did anyone get the postcard saying when they'd be on Discovery?

It's been over the 6 weeks they said to give it. I'm wondering if it's airing?

I haven't heard anything yet, but I am confident it will happen.  Based on previous experience it always takes longer than expected to actually air.  The last time we were told the DVICE segment would probably be online in December.  Turned out to be February.

No no...  I'm just saying that my daughter commented a while back that the guy we saw on the commercial powerising for the Discovery Channel COULD have been me (wishful thinking on her part) -- and now I AM (will be) a guy powerising on the Discovery Channel.  Just a bit of irony.  No G-Word commercial about or segment has aired yet as far as I know.  Sorry for the confusion.
