UPDATE 1: Sweet, they arrived this morning!!! They were here already when I arrived at work at 10am (yeah, I know) so the delivery was pretty efficient. They look awesome even though the knee bar looks huge! Once I get back from work I will take a few pictures for other prospective buyers and of course try my first few steps.
Thanks again for your help guys, I am sure I made the right choice with these!

UPDATE 2: Back home now and have some pics.
I have compared them to the original 7's vs Powerskips article and noted a few interesting points.

Firstly, the new bindings and knee straps look a bit better and definitely seem to be a worthwhile upgrade. Especially considering that the knee bar is massive so these should help me stay put.

The plastic packaging seems better with none if it actually sewed in so I had no problems removing it. Although, the plastic covering the calf pad (?) was riveted in so kinda hard to remove all of it. Didn't have that problem with the logo being too tightly riveted so all is good. The spring looks really large compared to other bocks I have seen so hopefully it should stand up to some abuse.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of my new toy! (...yes, I know they aren't toys....)! Smiley

Well, the only thing left to do now is go and give them a spin!!

Hi guys,

I have been following the bocking scene for a while now and decided that it may be time to invest in a pair.

I have been getting a little overweight recently and could do with some more exercise. I cannot find my skateboard, my skates don't really fit anymore and I get bored with just running. So I thought some jumping about may be a good idea.

After a reasonable amount of research, 7's seem to be the best choice for me as I live in the UK and am looking for something that will take a reasonable amount of abuse.

I am 5"10 and about 90kg at the moment so want to ask a little advice about choosing the right model. I apologise for another one of these questions, but I guess I want to be 100% convinced before laying down at least 250 notes...

Anyway, I used to trampoline to a pretty high standard when I was younger and as I am quite experienced in other extreme sports, I want something that will not restrict me from any hardcore use. However, my current weight of 90kg is a far cry from a few years ago when I was about 70kg. Therefore I was considering the S Rex model, but want to make sure I won't have any problems when/if I get a little lighter.

If I do choose the S Rex, I am not sure whether to go for the Type-X or Type-R. I would prefer to do more jumping than running I think, but I haven't found much information about the differences of the two springs. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?

EDIT: I think I read somewhere the other day about the knee support being a different size on the S Rex models. Can anyone confirm that and let know what the size difference is? Also if any smaller guys have no problems with this larger size, I suppose my medium size legs will probably be fine too!

I am probably going to pick up a pair in the next few days from an online dealer, but there appears to be two websites offering 7 league boots in the UK:

http://www.7-leagueboots.co.uk/
http://www.7leagueslondon.co.uk/

Are they the same company or completely separate and which one is a better option? (Or does it not matter?) Anyone here purchased from either site?

Also, on the first website, they have a few extra options in a special offer for the boots like like the Pro EVO binding. Is it worth upgrading to this and are there any differences between the system 1 and 2 bindings?

I think that is all of my questions, I would be really grateful for any replies to help me with the choice and it's great to find this site, it has given me loads of info already.

Thanks very much...

EDIT 2: Just bought some 7 League S Rex Type X bocks!!! Pictures to follow after they arrive!

o lots of questions goody, i'll attempt to answer a few, but i've had no experience with the s-rexes yet.

...the kneebar should be fine, i'm yet to see someone complain about it, with a pair of decent kneepads shouldn't be a problem, if not just add extra foam padding to it.

if you're good at trampolining etc, then you shouldn't have trouble bocking once you get used to it, and the s-rexes are good for your weight...if you then lose weight it just means you'll get more height.

i don't think anyone really knows what the difference between the springs are, except that you can get more height from x-rexes than the r-rexes.

the two websites are the same company, just different dealers, i used 7-leagueboots for my T-rex springs, haven't used the other, so i think either should be fine, but i'd personally go with the one i've used before.

think that's about all i can answer without making huge mistakes and confusing everyone.

Hi guys, thanks for your really quick answers. You pretty much told me what I wanted to hear. I have been leaning towards the S Rex-X model and the first site has the special offer bindings available too which is good.

Which model did you buy and how do you find them?

umm back in september i got pro-jumps off ebay for £90 (mothers money, birthday present Smiley)

...then i murdered the springs and my pair of T-rex springs arrived yesterday, was definately worth the £130 i payed for them...and some 7's feet, but i need some different parts to fit them onto my PJ frame...but i love my frame, i've spent since like march customising them to be really confy for me with extra padding etc, so now i can run around on them without them hurting for like 10 hours at a time...but my knees need to get used to the new springs, as they're so much more powerful than my old ones.

...i'm sure your bocks won't stay looking like tha factory default for long, not many peoples do Tongue

Your couldn't have looked ?
At first the bigger bar looked great problem is it's too big !?
The normal size is a tight fit but the bigger hoops just a little too big !

Type X is for more extreme bockers and jumping, Type R is optimised for running and less advanced bockers

i meant no-one knows the physical difference, pretty much everyone knows that r's are better for running etc,

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your replies. You must be like me and bored at work to reply so quickly!  Grin

Anyway, I though "f*** it" and just bought some & League 7 S Rex Type X with the type 1 binding and extra knee strap. £265 with delivery to the UK from http://www.7-leagueboots.co.uk/

Thanks again for all your help, this a pretty awesome community here!
I will post some pictures in the next few days of these new bocks, maybe they will be helpful for other people who are interested in the new 7 League models.

work? whats that?

hehe you won't regret it, you should get confirmation from parcel2go or someone saying they've been shipped, probably with DHL, so when it arrives check the packaging for any damage, and give the stilts a good check to make sure they're all ok and in one piece before getting on them.

there's a decent start check guide on there, now you should find something to do for a few days until they arrive, the wait will drive you insane Tongue

Cool man, I will do. Like someone else said, I am sure it's just a matter of time before the modding begins...!

I think they mentioned deliveries are with DHL. Any idea how long the shipping takes? Hopefully if they arrive tomorrow it will be an intense weekend!

well i ordered mine in the evening, so they were shipped early the next day, the delivery said 2-4 days and they came in 2, so tomorrow is unlikely, but you never know with deliveries like this.  my advice is be patient, oh and get some pads if you don't already have them, wrists are basically essential, i don't wear anything more, but i only prod my boundaries gently with a stick.

...so delivery should take a couple of days, you'll be sent an e-mail when the things are sent, you might even get a tracking code for DHL, which is didn't but meh just find something to do for a day or two while you wait, then give them a check-over, then hop on them and try not to kill yourself.

oh and read through the knowledge section on here, lots of things to be learnt

hi m4' and welcome.  ell Im an oner of S rex  x  ( and T rex as well) . The two companies are totally seperate. But I have prchased of both companies and indeed have shared a drink ( or erm about 7 in one case  Grin) with the pople behind both companies and the are both fine. Diff between the bindings? Just 1 is mat black one shiny silver --so basically just cosmetic.

Ive obviously used both type of knee bar. I am finding a bit of a problem with the wideness of the S rex and will be looking into getting some extra padding ( insulating piping has been mentioned above). Ive also found that when wearing shorts ( ie most of the times) the buckle on the knee strap digs in rather painfully so. The easiest and cheapest ( tho maybe not most stlish) way to counter this is just to cut the end of a sox and haul it up till it covers the tender bit of flesh.

On the subject of straps. You may have noticed ( on the 7's site) or in photos people using extra straps around the knee. This really helps and makes you feel more secure and 'as one' with your stilts. There are a couple of makes about, or improvise with some car roof rack webbing straps.

And yep where are you --there are probably peeps near you. And check out Captial Bocking next month --its the place to be  what ever one's ability.

Hi man, thanks for the welcome!
I am from London so I am sure there are many people around. Perhaps once I get the hang of these I will see how it goes.

Capital London looks pretty cool, but a shame it's not in London this year otherwise it would have been perfect.

I will check out the extra tubing for the knee bar like people mention, unless they fit may fat knees with no problems! Smiley I think I will go with trousers anyway, not so much of a shorts guy so should be all good.

Looking forward to getting these like anything. I was hoping that 7-leagues.co.uk might offer a same day dispatch if ordered by a certain time, but have yet to receive any email about the shipping yet so I guess they will be here on Monday. Can't wait!
