Definitely use wrist guards above anything else,
I wear them and a helmet and put on the neoprene knee pads as I have the calf cuff style that offer little protection on the knees.
Neoprene are nice as when you fall they don't seem too tear up like the fabric/plastic styles.
www.www.DicksSportingGoods.comwww.walmart.comSome drug stores carry them too as they are a compression aid in injuries,
Rite-aid/cvs/wal-greens/etc

A neighbor of mine bought my Classics from me and he found the hard way 3 weeks in a cast he hit a little patch of water on the pavement while running and "going down" hit his right arm and broke his wrist luckily it was not a complete break just a partial one.
I felt so bad for him as I knew it would happen soon and I offered guards to him several times he always took them off when he tried to run/jump so it finally caught up with him.
good news is he is fine and will not take them off when we Bock

Looks very good take it slow learn it one step at a time.
Best things come to those who wait!
Hope this helps you out.
