Okay this is day 3 with my gear. It's nothing special but I started feeling more comfortable so I started taking videos so that if I feel good jumping I can look at what did to do it. Bocking is awesome and I hope to try some flips eventually, but Im a ways away from that. Any tips on how to run faster and jump forwards with both feet more than once? Maybe I just need some more confidence and practice.
Thanks,
Cory

Elbow pads are the least you should be worried about, you really need wrists and knee pads as a bare minimum otherwise you could quite easily fall and break a wrist and be out of bocking for a couple months

Thanks I didn't think elbow pads would be a big deal but friendly advice was exactly what I was looking for so I'll def get a pair, I'm out for about a week tho I have a slight case of bockers back its kinda hard to even walk and sit down right, so I've gotta give it time to heal.

Can't find wrist guards in any local stores close to me... any suggestions for websites or other stores that I might have forgotten about?

Even places like WalMart are likley to sell them pads in 3 packs, so you get knees, wrists and elbows.

bockers back, you get it mainly when you first start and if you are unfit, its like an ache that goes down the bottom half of your back, i only get it now if i land a trick badly and bend at the waist to land it instead of using my knees, but thats because i'm paranoid of kneeing myself in the face, like i did last time i used a trampoline...if you don't get it it can only be a good thing,

^^that pretty much correct guys?

oh goody i'm learning then, it was pretty bad when i first started...but i hadn't worked out how to jump well, so thats probably it, just lie on a nice flat surface like a floor for a while to re-straighten your back, then rest a bit, one day without bocking won't kill you...though i'm out every day now i'm back bocking again, even though i still shouldn't yet

Yeah thats the thing though I am in great shape I've been running and working out for I don't even know how long and I am very flexible so I dont get why I have bockers back...I heard someone say that it could be because of looking down at your feet when you jump??

that will cause you to take the shock in your back more than normal, but the main thing is that bocking uses different muscles and in different ways/amounts than running or cycling for instance, i think it's mainly lower/middle back muscles, upper leg and abs, or at least thats what aches after i bock nowadays, and shoulders also just because you need to move your arms, but a lot more if you're vaulting over stuff and other crazy stuff like that.  don't worry it'll go within a couple of weeks, just take it easy and get used to running and learning how to kanga hop, once those are down you can practically do anything...with practise...

edit: btw don't forget to check your hooves for wear frequently, not sure how powerstriders hooves stand up to bocking, but if they're much like PJ's then you'll need tiresocks before most, just incase you hadn;t thought about it yet
