No, those are the old bearings that caused a problem for someone in the first place

yeah that's the old design, which causes frame where when those brass bushings wear out.

Hmm, i've been sent old stuff eh?

Seems to work quite well in combo with the new stuff.
Went out last night with DarkInsomn1a for a couple of hours, and had a blast.
Bocks felt sound and secure. I have adjusted the Outside stabilizer rods upwards, to make the outside edge of the footplate raised (towing in). This has stopped the unwanted outward knee movement, and feels so much more stable for me.

Had no problems with the bocks at all last night, only my bravery (or lack thereof) is holding me back now. Smiley
Really good to get out and bock with someone else. Makes it so much more interesting, and it will push our progression on a bit too, i think.

BTW, has anyone got any standard flipoff replies to the "Do a backflip then mate" remark, that seem to come from almost every kid we pass??

Be careful with that setup that it doesn't cause the frame to warp over time, should be ok but just keep an eye on it.

Pretty much standard wherever and whoever you are, you'll get used to it after a while Cheesy

You cant tighten those nuts, they just cap the bolt.

You cant tighten those nuts, they just cap the bolt.
That's odd, you used to be able to on riSers and you can on all other brands. Switch them for some normal 10mm nuts!

well i just took mine apart to investigate what was causing my new pair to bend, and i found that in the joint under the foot and at the joint at the top of the foot, there were brass washers that were misshapen and the holes in the center were not round and too small to fit over the ends of the sleeve that sticks out.  This caused the joint to not fit together properly.  I had spares so i replaced them, but there was still a ton of extra room in the joint under the foot plate, so i took the misshaped washers and added them outside the aluminum washers where they would fit and just fill up the gap.  There's still some wobble room there, but its much less than before and the joint is much straighter.

You cant tighten those nuts, they just cap the bolt.

The new nuts can be tightened, just not very far, and they are better because they leave a rounded bottom on the stabilizer rod so it can't scrape anything if you fall or hit your other stilt with it.  Their limited range of movement is normally not a problem but Zipp moved up the foot plates to do the mod that athoul linked to the pic of, and chose not to cut the rods off in case he wanted to move it back down at a later point, the two nuts should hold it fine, especially with a bit of thread sealer, the extra nuts is just a precaution.

Oh Yeah, i forgot to mention that i did drill new compromise holes in the vertical support bar.
Higher than the original, and lower than my first effort.
This has softened up the start position of the spring somewhat.

Sprog,
Yeah i will be sure to keep an eye on things regularly.
I hope one day i will be able to do a backflip, to answer their requests. I have a feeling it could be many months away, if at all, though.

Thanx ES for answering that. Wink
They are indeed just rounded end nuts designed to just cap the end of the thread.
I could cut the threads shorter, to get the end nuts closer to the supporting nuts. It would be aesthetically pleasing, but i don't see any adverse issues, left as they are?

XS, i have also added extra washers to the points you mentioned, to secure things up a bit.
also, apologies for mixing you up with DK, earlier.

i tested my washer solution and it didn't really do anything. they're still bent.  I'm working with xphub trying to get a solution, and they seem convinced that washers should do it, but I think they're wrong.  I'll keep updating till i get something that works.
