I love the whole calendar idea, i have two at the moment on my wall and they are pretty bare, it would be nice to have a poweriser calendar of some people doing tricks and a calender filled with info about meets and maybe other stuff?

What about important stuff that has happened in the sports hitory, like when people make it on tv, when a particular brand came out, when they were first invented, the creation of this site, that sort of thing. just a thought.

The calendar idea could get complicated and cluttered.  Perhaps if it had only major events.  But given the exponential growth of bocking, the calendar would probably only go a few months before it got overcrowded with little meets.  The "Picture of the Month" idea is sustainable, so I like it better.  My only problem with the calendar being filled with little meets is that the majority of bockers do not care about any given meet.  Perhaps my view is a little skewed because of my position in the USA, though.  Looking at the huge number of UK meets compared with USA meets is a little frustrating.

However, it is not impossible to have both.  Have both side by side, and if they're too small that way, make it so you can click on it and take a look at the full-size version.

Some time down the line it may be necessary to subdivide the calendar by region, though.

I shall let this discussion continue, sounds like some good ideas are coming together.

In the meantime I have added a box to the front page which will come up with the next events in the Calendar. It is limited to 3 weeks in the future, and to 10 events. I have made it so birthdays are visible at the bottom of the forum index, but not in the Calendar.
