yeah sand would be about as hard as grass and isnt going to be funny if you land on your back.

Get a gym with some mats.

saw someone else do that a few months ago, i believe it was toby.  probably could find it in the archive, looked like a good idea to me.  has to feel better than learning on the grass like lidor did.

Get a gym with some mats.

I totally agree with Locky here!
Go to your local sports halls and ask if you can use the hall for some poweriser (explain what these are) practice.
All you need is a badminton court sized space with about 2 or 3 mats.
It only costs me 6 quid for a hour with as many mats as i want.

If you get turned down by one place, try another.

It was Toby that did the flips onto the beach before, but from the videos id guess he could already flip before he tried it onto the sand. Dont think the video is in the forum but you can find it if you search youtube for jumpcity

Living by the beach I wouldnt recommend learning on it (normally quite wet or full of stones) - and i dont think it would be very good for your bocks either!

I'd recommend finding a crash mat if its at all possible!

I understand you know to flip without the risers. if not - this is the first step
Afterwards - regardless of the ground benith you, it might be a good idea to have 2 friends 1 on each side to supprt your 1st few crashes
