MCTom suggested this too. I like the idea. Lets say Camelot is Tintagel ---then we just find the nearest beach  and chill.

Oh and Greg  re London. There was a brief exchange of posts on the 'other site'. dunno how big it will be, but there could well be a London meet a month or so after CB. Jelly is up for putting it together and finding a route. I suspect it will be in the style of a tour around a few sites , whilst taking in a few good bock spots.  A poor substitute --but I hope it will be a crumb of help

 well its all fun and as the 2012 olympics venue has been desided even b4 the 2008 has taken place, we could say that is a precident for getting bids together .

Peeps could also try googling around to find 'lost capitals of britain'.  Winchester for wessex. York for Danelaw. Did Mercia have a capital? Oxford was the Royalist capital during the Civil War.

One could even stretch a point and look up definitions of the word 'capital'.

But remember you can come up with place names. But you need to have  things to do for starters, then you need loos, good communications/transport links. Tho yeah --thats boring. Just come up with places
