A new site has gone up at www.capitalbocking.com

Presently it only has details about the uk event but I'll get details for the US and Australia events as soon as they are put in place and given to me.

This year is undoubtably going to be massive for Capital Bocking and I think its great that we keep it commercial free with no sponsors etc Smiley

The site will be continuously updated over the months to come but I must stress that updated info may not get posted on individual forums etc. This is just so there is no confusion and all information is on one site.

Sorry this may go on a lil Grin  But a few idle musings from moi. Part looking back at CB 07 ( tho with a view to 08) and directly at 08.

1 thing about bocking in the UK that has changed since last August, is the number size and organisation of the clubs.  Although  there are a number of 'regional group' photos, I dont think it unreasonable to say there were only 3 'working' clubs there on the day.

This year I think we cam expect atleast 6. With the real possibility of more  forming in the comming months( 1/2 a doz bockers from Yorkshire alone have joined the boards over the festive period -- would be great to see a club up and working again in the North).

I really think this is somethink to be tapped into for a host of reasons ( some of which I dont know about but you lot do). Coordinating transport is an obvious 1, and with ( lets hope) greater numbers it will make threads alot easier to understand if we dont have posts about maggzie at the loos in bury st edmonds train station or which IB cant sit in  the back of a car -cos they get travel sick, entertaining tho they probably would be. Those things may indeed be much better handled in club threads ( OK not every club has 1 on here  but they do on pjf) then 'lift' and plonk in tite group relevent info on the main site.

Also clubs may want to 'do things' in the way of entertainment for the rest ( hope so) and iD suggest that might best be discussed on meets, msn  or in JJ's case on our own forum. So whilst these things wouldnt be 'secrets' they would be 'suprises' and the main site would just need to be told ClubX is doing 'somat' it will take 15 min   can we have a time slot.

Also there may be a few unaccompained teens ( tho as people who were in London know it really was a family event and all the family are very much welcomed --indeed asked), if their parents get to see the 'locals' they maybe more enclined to let the kids go.

Also clubs can 'lean' on wavers to attend.

With the above in mind. And bearing in mind that this event will be 'reletively' static and not moving as was London, not so many stewards with local knowledge will be needed. So why not all the clubs   choose a 'coordinator'. Some1 who makes sure the cars are pooled as best as possible  or all conect to the same train and so on. On the Sat would be the 'club steward' and on the Sunday the 'team captain'

I think  this will make the event inclusive more quickly keep the momentum going , help the clubs and make it seem really national. Oh and with the 'banned bockers' theres an 'all encompassing nation club'  for any on their tod.

With that in mind a / clubs  start thinking of ways to entertain and b/ Sat  CB tees  Sunday club Tees maybe?

Oh sports,  3 legged race   and I nominate sprog and tundraH to represent the Jj's

PS  ooo ny chance  the title of this thread could be changed to Capital bocking Cardiff 08  or somat   its a bit chatchier than 'website'.

That's actually a really good idea, I like that Smiley

Club show idea is a good one too, but coordinating it may be a problem. We'll wait and see, but they're both ideas I'd like to see at CB... apart from me and colin doing the 3 legged race Tongue
