My vote is for Washington DC. It is reasonably close for me and it is our Capatol city. The sooner we can settle on  a date the better, I am already starting to book events for this summer.

It been decided that it will stay in DC, the date is still questionable.  After thinking about it for a while as much as i would like the UK bockers to join us i think the idea of making capital bocking a simultaneous celebration of bocking all over the world is the idea of CB, and i think we should stick with it, there are gonna be other meets, especially as the US bocker population starts to grow, Bill is already planning for Bock NYC again which i will definately be at.  So i propose that the 17th-18th weekend.  CB is all about getting everybody out bocking at once to promote the sport and have a great time doing it.

Let me know if theres anything I can do to help here on the ground.  I am new to bocking but have a pavement level perspective plus some skills that might be useful.

Right Ive just found out tonite that Ive accidently managed to save £10000  ( nearly $2000) over the last few years --yeah Im terrible with money --could just as easy have been a loss).

So this or NY  are now very 'doable'

So , please endulge me, if I go its only to 1 of them. How many are going to each of the events in turn? What other 'big' events do you have planned for later in the year?

My biggest prob however will be time off work as this is school vacation time and Ima bit late to go booking time off I fear

I really have no clue how many people are going to NYC or CB, I know then number of people in my area has about doubled since last year, so there's about 5 of us now, and most of us want to go to both.  So i'm guessing attendance will be about the same at both, i'm hoping for about 20, but i really don't know.  And as for anything else later in the year, i'm thinking about organizing something in providence or boston in either june or september, not sure.

As far as planning a trip from the UK, thats a tough one.  If you haven't been to either city before, I'd recommend DC over NYC -- just because it's the center of our government and I know you love history, bmthbloke.  The Smithsonian Museums are fantastic and the tours of our government buildings are very interesting.  On the otherhand, NYC is fun for sightseeing and doing the touristy things and is just bigger than life.  The biggest downer I see as far as flying over for either event would be a very rainy day.  BockNYC would possibly opt to postpone the event and re-schedule if it looked like rain that Saturday.  Last year it wasn't an official go until 1 day before travel day for people because the weather system just made it out of here by Saturday morning.  So that's my main concern for anyone traveling and booking flights.  Everyone should make sure they book a refundable flight if flying in.  But even with a rain-out, DC would have a ton of indoor tourist things to do.

I don't think anyone can yet predict attendance numbers for either event.  We still don't have the numbers like in the UK.

Unfortunately, we cannot show you film of BockNYC 2007 because WE HAVE YET TO GET A COPY OF THE VIDEO!!!!!!!

Hi all,
While it's a bit late, since everyone said DC. But you might want to consider Las Vegas for a future event. Usually get cheaper airfares to go there, lots of stuff to do (after jumping around), Lots of people would want to go there(so you might get a bigger attendance), also a lot more extreme sport things to do there (the flgiht center for wind tunnel flights - parachuting without the chute or the altitude). Several things to see (Grand Canyon is 2-3 hours away).  Of course it's not a capital and get really rally hot in the summer months...

Just a thought Smiley
