Hello,

I am new here and I recently purchased a pair of PoweriZer/Flying Jumpers. I read quite a bit before getting them and read how it takes several days to start breaking in the springs. Also, because I am working out to loose some weight (I currently weight about 190) I bought PoweriZers for people that weight 190-220 (because I saw so many recommendations to get one size higher and I plan to loose weight).

I have been on the PoweriZers for three days now and I have noticed that the right spring is breaking in much faster than the left. I get a decent "bounce" when I walk in the right leg but the left is very stiff still ... just like it is still brand new out of the box. Is this "normal" or "typical"?

Should I just continue to walk in them to break them in (i.e. will the left "catch up" to the right?) or should I try doing more things on "just" the left one? In other words, should I do something like grab onto a pole and bounce on only the left one so that the left one gets more of a workout than the right?

Thanks in advance!

This is fairly normal when they are brand new.  Everyone has a dominant leg just like they have a dominant hand.  It's just less ovbious cause we don't use are feet for very specific tasks like our hands.  when you start jumping on one foot, you jump more on one foot than the other.  Just remember when you jump on one foot, jump on the other just as many times.  and since you have one stiffer thant the other, jump on the stiffer one a few more time, they'll even out.  As both springs get softer you'll notice the diference between them less and less.  So don't put too much effort into evening them out.

Thank you for your reply.

However, this is now day four and the left spring is still extremely stiff. If I lift my left foot I can feel the right spring begin to give. If I lift my right foot the left spring remains stiff. As I walk I can feel the right spring wanting to bounce, but the left one remains pretty stiff. Granted, the left spring is a slight bit more flexible today than it had been before, but it is very stiff none-the-less. If I bounce on the left leg it bearly gives and there is a great amount of honking. If I bounce on the right sping it feels great and wants to lift me off the ground with little effort.

BTW - I do not get a lot of time to bock (is that the correct term?). I can only donate about an hour a day at this point.

Really Dan, just keep walking on it, it'll flex.

It seems like it'll never do it, but it just takes time.

If you've only been on them for 4 hours you just need to give it time. It takes at least 8 hours to get minimal bounce.  Use some wd40 or silicone to loosen them up a little.  Just wait it out. jump on one foot some more. but if the spring doesn't want to bend don't force it.  I'll loosen up with time.  In the unlikely case that another couple hours doesn't do anything you might have a spring that got put in the wrong stack.  But i think you just need to give it time.

Hopefully, by now this problem has corrected itself.  But another way to get the left spring to catch up with the right would be to simply wear them on the opposite feet for a while -- that is, if you have a dominant leg.  Just be careful not to hit the strap clips together as they will both be on the inside of your feet.

Hi Bill,

The problem has corrected itself. It turns out I had my 'riZers on the wrong feet to begin with. So, when I switched them (so that the rachet clips were on the outside) my dominant leg began to break in the stiffer spring. They are both about even now Smiley .
