bobman, now seeing that video it looks like well a good idea! I reckon i might try that out.

Hmm you're still getting some good height with that, but if the bungee snaps you're pretty much screwed.
Nice idea though, just not particuarly safe!

surely it wont matter if the bungee snaps. Won't it just snap and then he would carry on bouncing like normal as if the bungee wasn't on there?

What I'm thinking about Ian, is if it snaps whilst it's tense it's going to ping off, yes, the bungee itself wont hurt, but it has metal hooks in the end. I've had my brother fire one at me like an elastic band and it managed to cut my arm...
It probably wouldn't happen but it'll be nasty that close to your leg if it does

Bobman, would you be able to do a comparison with it. So see how high you can bounce with it on and then with it off?Im curious to see how much difference it makes.

I used to put some bungies under immense strain when using them to hold down a microlight to its trailer and I mean I really pushed them to the limit. I have never seen one snap yet although I have seen the knotted end slip through the metal spring holder of the hook. Either way, I simply cannot see how the hook would come free of the frame and wound you.

Could it put excessive pressure on the spring? That is a possibility although I don't know how real it is.

I would be interested to know if this mod gives any measurable improvement in height or in flight when running? Oh, and don't bother asking me to try it because I'm still in plaster and according to the hospital when they changed the plaster casts on Friday, I will be for another 2 months unless I stop using my computer.

p.s. according to the left hand side of this post I now have wallaby status. Is that a wally with abs?

Not sure, as this was over a year ago and I think bobman basically abandoned it soon after, I saw him the next month and he didn't have them on then, and hasn't since. I doubt it really made much difference and may have put increased pressure on the spring and frame.

No. A wallaby is like a kangaroo, but smaller.

Stuntman told me that he'd seen bungies used to increase strength of springs, but as its only second hand, idk if it works.

The question is ...where did he see that, was it written somewhere on the net, or did he actually see some bockers doing it and getting good results?

Theoretically, it could work, because it adds extra force to the snapback action. But then again, it may simply serve to restrict the amount of flex in the spring which would have the opposite effect.
