Why So Serious?

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this when changing bits, especially the hooves.

I think it's to do with my 7's being so old now, but I'm not sure. Each of the larger horizontal bolts passes through a metal roller piece, and I think mine have taken such a bashing that perhaps the rollers are slightly deformed. I found whilst attempting to switch the hooves that the lowest horizontal bolt wouldn't come out of the roller. After about an hour of fiddling and twisting, much swearing, lubricating it, and even resulting to bashing the bolt with a hammer (they're out of warranty, don't worry), it wouldn't shift.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

In the end what I did was slid the bolt back in (it would go in but not come out... odd), did it all back up. I then took off my cuffs to access the bolt at the top, and switched the entire springs over with the hooves attached. The Bock Doc will not be defeated!
Only downside to this is I had to refit my cuffs, but that wasn't too hard as I'd marked the positions on them a while back

What should have been a 30mins job resulting in 4 hours of work Sad
So yeah, anyone else had this problem, or is it just me?

Here's a photo to show how far out I could get the bolt. I managed to get the little one back in the bottom, but required a lot of patience and flexibility with fingers and a spanner.

I think anything that gets pounded as much as bocks do are eventually not going to fit as neatly together as they originally did at the factory.  I've experienced similar fitting problems at different locations, Sprog.

haven't had any problems with that bolt.  I know after a year taking my PoweriZers apart was hellish, everything was squished or bent wrong, but my PoweriSers kept all the holes round.  Other things went wonky but there was no trouble taking them apart.

Jeez, how long have you had those?  That is DEAD.  Hmm...  What weight class springs do you have on those?  Cuz if you did that with Raptor springs, your bocks had better be pretty old or 7leagueboots has issues with the strength of that part.

That IS a pretty finnicky part to begin with, or at least it is on my bocks.

Did what? Just get the bolt stuck Huh

They're over a year old now and have taken some pretty serious beating. In the photo it looks like that clip is bent but actually it's not, it's just the lighting on the photo Tongue
