Hi all. My girlf has real trouble bocking as she's fairly short and the tops of the springs bash into the back of her legs when she runs. Getting up after a fall is out of the question.

I've seen mention of solutions to this problem and have padded the top of the springs already. Now I'm looking to add some wood to 'raise' the footplate. Knowing that other people must have done this already, I'd like to know what woods or other materials you tried. Weight is my main concern.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies Smiley

I believe some have used a couple of pairs of flip-flops (without the straps) and just stuck them on.

Yep  go lookround £ shops  see if you can get a pair of the old naff flip flops  and just glue them on ( with straps removed)  Or a smiliar dense foam. Maybe a swimming float cut to size?

I had that same problem myself (seen the pic in the gallery?) when i first started bocking. Like others have said you could either make the footplates higher or sponge the top of the springs. I dont have that problem anymore now because 7's footplates are higher anyway, thank goodness! Hope you can find a solution soon. jelly x

hi, I also had this problem , but came up with an easy fix .

all I used was some foam from b&Q  , the type on the garden boards ( the 1s for kneeling on )  and hey presto  lol only cost a few quid but worth a million dollers.

will put a picy in the mod section.

hope this helps

Jeeez...  That's a great source for some nice thick foam cut-outs, D.I.O.B.  Great idea.  It is dense like gym wrestling mat material.
