Hey guys!
Yesterday, a reporter from a newspaper here on Åland called me because she had heard about my bocks and wanted to an article about it/me. (I live in Stockholm, but my parents live on Åland so I spend my summers there. Also, I think it is the first time a pair of bocks have ever been on Åland.)

Well, she came over to our house and did an interview and took some pictures.
Today, the paper came out, and it even made the frontpage! Cheesy
On page 7 there is a near-fullpage article about it, and with two pcitures in colour. Tongue
I am very pleased with what she wrote, and I give a thanks to her for it.

You can check it out yourselves via the papers e-paper over here.
It is in swedish, so for those of you who don't speak swedish, well, you can still look at the pics! Wink

Will scan the article and post it here as well so it stays forever.

Translation by yours truly:

Petter takes sevenmilestrides.
News. Petter Ekman gets alot of attention when he is jumping around in his sevenmileboots in Mariehamn.

Main article:
Quote
Jumps turns heads downtown.
He is over two metres tall barefeet - and 2.45 when he puts on his shoes.
No wonder people look when Petter Ekman jumps along the city streets in his sevenmileboots.

The name sevenmileboots comes from the fairytaleworld where you can read about magic boots that let you walk long distances and fast.
-People ask me if I do this to get attention. But I don't. I just do it because it's fun.
I get attention anyways for being so tall, twentytwo year old Petter says.

Bocking from Bock
The brand on his jumpingshoes is Poweriser and they were invented by the German Alexander Bock about seven years ago.
-It is also called "Powerbocking" after it's inventor, Petter says.
Petter wanted to buy sevenmileboots four or five years back but this May he finally made the deal. He ordered the shoes from Germany and paid 400€ for them.
-It's not that expensive actually. I tend to say that if you buy a bike, a gameconsole and a gymcard you're up in the same amount, Petter says.
His point is that Powerbocking is as fun, if not more fun, than playing videogames, a means of transportation as a bike and that it gives the same excersise as going to the gym.
You mainly work out your legs but your abdomen and back also get excersise since it requires good balance.
-Usually it takes about ten minutes just to walk around and get used to them, then you can start jumping and jogging, Petter says.

Many glances
Petter lives in Stockholm and when he has jumped around there and in Mariehamn his special jumpingshoes have raised alot of peoples attention.
-Alot of people come up and ask how fast I can jump in them and how tall I am in them, Petter says.
He says that you can reach speeds of upto 30 to 40 kilometers per hour if you are skilled. But it's hard work.
-So far I've only managed to jog about 300 metres before I get tired and need to rest.
But the idea is mostly about jumping high and not running fast, Petter says.

You just need the guts
Some people are genuinly interested and asks Petter to show a jump while others can have a bad attitude and say "Show me a backflip then!".
-I don't like when people come and command like that. But if they come up to me and are curious I will more than gladly show a jump, Petter says.
He hasn't yet learned any flips but bravely jumps over bicycles, flowerpots, hedges and fences.
-I want to learn flips as well, I just need the guts to try, Petter says.
Petter has hurt himself twice but it hasn't been any serious injuries. The knees take most of the impact if you land badly or extend your legs in the wrong way.
-I wear kneepads, elbowpads and helmet. You have to have it, Petter says.

Experienced jumper
Petter likes to explore new sports. He is an experienced jumper since before, but from a somewhat different sort.
-I jump from cliffs into water, both in the summers and in the winters.
Last time he broke his personal record and jumped into freezing water at the 31st of March this year. But the strongest memory is from his jumpp into zero-degree water in mid-winter.
-I had promised to jump between Christmas and New Years Eve last year. So I had to keep what I'd promised and jumped on the 27th of December. It was minus 4 degrees outside, it was windy and zero degrees in the water. It was terrible but I did it, Petter says.
Petter Ekman says that Powerbocking probably won't turn into a competitive sport.
-Those who created Poweriser doesn't want it to be competed with, they just want it to be a fun sport, he says.

Here's a poor english translation of the article Tongue

Quote
He is over two metres long in strumplästen - and 2.45 when he takes on himself the shoes. Wonder on that people look when Petter Ekman jumps along the town's streets in your sjumilastövlar.

The name sjumilastövlar comes from the fairytales' world where one can to read about magic trudges as one can habit drawing longly and fast with.

- people ask about I does this in order to few attention. But the does I not. I do the only in order to the is funny. Attention may I nevertheless in order to I am to sow long, says tjugotvååriga Petter.

Bocking of buck

The brand on his hope shoes is Poweriser and was invented of the German Alexander buck for approximately seven years since.

- the area is called also” Powerbocking” after your inventor, says Petter.

Petter each heart on buying sjumilastövlar already for four to five years since but now in May done he kinds in the thing. He ordered the shoes from Germany and paid 400 euros for them.

- the is not so costly actually. I farm to say that if you buy a bike, a playing bracket and a gymkort so is you up in same sum, says Petter.

He means in big features that Powerbocking is equally funny, unless funnier, that to play video playing, a means of transportation as the bike and that the gives equally good training that to go on gym.

In front accustoms the man legs but also the MAG and the spine sheep strength since the area requires a good balance.

- normally takes the approximately ten minutes to only to go about with the shoes and to accustom itself, since can one to begin to jump and to jog, says Petter.

Many glances

Petter lives in Stockholm and then he jumped about where and in Mariehamn has his special hope footwear aroused many people's new coffee unit.

- many comes forward and asks how fast man can to jump with them and how long I become with them, says Petter.

He says that one can to achieve a rate on 30 to 40 kilometers in the hour if one is dexterous. But the is heavy.

- so far has I only had the energy to jog approximately 300 metres until I become tired and must pausa. But the idea is in front that one will can to jump highly and not that one will come quickly ahead, says Petter.

Only to dare

Certain people are genuinely interested and asks Petter a sensible hope while other can have a little bothersome attitude and to come forward and to say” shows a volt, then”.

- I do not like then people comes and commands on that way. But about the comes forward and is curious shows I gladly how one jumps, says Petter.

He has not yet learnt some volter but jumps bravely over bikes, blomkrukor, hedges and fences.

- I want to learn to do volt era also, the is only to dare to try, says Petter.

Twice has Petter damaged itself but the has not been the question about some serious. Knäna takes most beating whether one lands tokigt or stretches out the legs on wrong ways.

- I have knee protections, elbow protections and helmet. The must one have, says Petter.

Used to hoppare

Petter likes to investigate new sporter. He is an used to hoppare from until, but of a some individual type.

- I farm to jump from bergsklippor in waters, both summer - and winter time.

Last did he personal records and jumped in ice-cold waters already March 31 this year. But that hope that sits strongest in the memory is that time then he jumped in zero degrees cold waters in the middle of the winter.

- I had assured to jump in the water average Christma and New Years the previous year. So I must hold what I assured and jumped December 27. The each minus four degrees cold up, the swindled and the each zero degrees in the water. The was quite horrible but I coped with the, says Petter.

Petter Ekman says that Powerbocking probably does not become a competition area.

- the as created Poweriser does not want to entire pc that the will be emulated without the only will last a funny sport, says he.
And the actual article is Here incase anyone can't find it (it took me a while, kept saying "page not found" Cheesy)

Okay, now that I have a little more time on my hands, I'll give you a full, non-machine, translation.
I edited my original post so that it is on the top of the page.

Edit: So Sprog, if you would like to, you could remove your translation. No need for a lousy machinetranslation when I did a bit better job. Wink (Not saying mine is perfect, but it is alot better if you ask me. Tongue)

Well, that was quite interesting. I never once uttered the word sevenleagueboots, she was the one who referred to them as that.
My brother calls them that as well, and several other people I've encountered. Tongue
