Can anyone tell me how to balance by just standing - I find myself losing balance when I try and stand still.

Does anyone know any technique just to be able to balance without the help out walls or poles etc. ?

Thanks

i dont have powerisers yet, but im pretty sure taht its immposable to ballence without taking small steps, i think that its the same as the stilts that i used, unless you have a setup like dura-stilts

You have to use the same system as peg stilts when on powerisers. Simply take little steps backwards and forwards, you dont need to step far, just lift your feet up and down and alternate your weight, and you shouldn't fall over. After a lot of practice you should be able to do it without moving your feet hardly at all!
I think it's probably best to learn to stilt walk before using risers and then you know how to balance instantly, but maybe that's just me Cheesy

As said by greatballsofire, you need a large area (like Durastilts) to be able to stand still. The best way to think about it is that the risers have a very small surface area on them, and dura stilts have a surface area similar to normal feet. Take a pencil and try to stand it on it's point, it falls over doesnt it? Stand it on the flat end and it should stay up on its own. The risers are the pointed end, and the duras are the flat end, a larger surface area means it doesnt have to be moved around all the time for it to stay upright

after warming up ive been able to stand totaly still for about 8-14 sec max.. quite dificult but when people ask 'Can you stand still' gives another chance to try and time yourself mentally.. a lot of people ask me if i can so i show them how long i can stand still for and most seemed shocked at this aspect of powerising.
