Ahh man, powerisers.... why must you hurt me so...?

I think I have only had one session where I didn't fall over in the last 2 weeks since geting my bocks. First fall was on the same evening on my shoulder which has only just started feeling better.

But I just had a bit of a belter...
I have been feeling pretty confident with jumping up and down recently and have been considering doing backflips for a day or two. I was boucking around a little while ago and thought to myself, "hey, I can do a backflip, I reckon".

However... that was not quite the case!
I got some good height and went for it... and then I was falling... turns out I didn't have quite the right technique and got about halfway round before stacking on to my hip on grass!

It feels so different to a trampoline and the added weight on my legs made me spin way too slowly!

I actually kinda hurt myself and I can barely walk now! You know what the worst thing about it is?
I am now going to be suffering for a few days, can't even think about bocking at the moment and worst of all.... it's not even on video.... I mean come on, what a waste!

All this talk of pads and I managed to hurt the only part of me not padded up... typical!

Oh well, next time perhaps I will try with a crash mat instead of directly on grass and perhaps some sort of padded shorts/arse pads!  Wink

Agreed.
Get to a gym with crash mats and practice there. Never just go for flips straight on grass, it will result in injury unless you are a gymnast/very experienced in flipping.

Hey... I am not 100% noob, just a little bit! Unfortunately I don't have access to a gym so cannot really practice any other way. Besides, I am pretty comfortable with bocking and have been trampolining for about 15 years so I wouldn't call it running before walking, I am not foolish, just a little over-excited... It was inevitable....  Cheesy

I'm glad I went for my backflips before reading this or it would have given me second thoughts and i would have bottled.
Fortunately I did ok.

Its a great lesson though and yeah, the video is the only thing missing.
Hope ur not in pain for long dude!

If you don't have a gym near you, order some mats for the grass.

http://www.newitts.com/shop/1/12/Mats.htm

http://www.sportssafety.co.uk/html/safety_mats.htm

Or try to find another place that sells mats, preferably in London for you because how do they ship and giant mat??

Have someone help you, have someone hold the mat for you and right as you jump have them slide it under you, that way you have room to jump and have a mat anywhere you fall because they move it.

Heres a video of what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMT6H5QCaDM
