Break a leg!....or two!

Hey again everyone!

As planned have i gotten myself a pair of Powerisers 08 pr 7090 and was thrilled by the home delivery from England.

I have been wondering about a few things about the bearings and washers on the lower parts of the stilts.

both 1 and 2 can i move sideways (with the stilts facing me) making "klicking" and "clacking" noises due to the empty space between the bearings/washers and metal parts, i have added an extra washer to stop this movement, but is that a good thing or bad thing?

I can still make the same noises when i wiggle my legs from left to right when i use them, are they really supposed to make sounds like this?

Oh and i've used them for about 2 days by now with my friend who suffers from the same problems.

Hi Phillz,
1. Could you show us some detail pictures of the bearings?
2. It is a very bad thing, if the parts are moving sidewards, as you wrote. I had the same troubles with some old type Powerisers, when i wanted to make new bushings on them. There must be some old, bad batch, that seems to be still arround these days.

That kind of stuff real sucks, but me as a small retailer, i don't have any influence on that neighter and this sucks twice. Sad
But that's one of the reasons as well, why I started with the mystery springs. There I get almost everything in my own hands and things thyt are not there, they're in the hands of real serios and carefull working people.

Have fun, jump high, says Dome

this would be what they've not fixed with the bearings dome.

no its not good, adding more washers is really all you can do about it.  Make sure the bolts are nice and tight, you can limit the movement, but not eliminate it completely.

OK XS,
thanks, now I understand what you wrote at another posting, thanks.
I thought you have been talking about the bearings/bushings itself and they are at this time real the best one, so I didn't understand a f... what you have been talking about.
But this spacing thing is real nasty, I have to addmit and i don't like it at all neighter. Other labels therefore have an aluminum part there to prevent such. In fact this would be the right basic idea, but as I'm used of it from these chinese dudes, they had a basic idea that can be considered as the good one. But talking about how they realized it, it's absolutely useless that way......
a rod part between there would be the good solution, but there for, the whole foot lever part must be transformed, that's why they didn't made it the good way right away. (That's what I suppose)
But talking about that trouble, i would not accept such as customer, If I boight a new pair of stilts. this is why I don't sell such bouncers myself. The few pairs I had, I did transform at my own costs.

Hey Dome

Yea it's a bit of a disappointment really, i expected it to be complete without dealing with problems. I'll get pictures soon enough.

The lower set (#2) is fixed since i added an extra washer to fill out the space but i discovered that no.1's tube (not sure what you guys call it) is too long and it makes it harder to find an extra washer to put around the last uncovered part. I hope you can put any washer that fits onto this tube or must it be a special kind of washer?

(I hope it's ok if i borrow your picture XarnuSonci)

This is the lower part i'm speaking about which is fixed by adding an extra washer on my stilts but #1 has too much space between the metal, they were also bent inwards but i bent them straight. This is where the problem with the tube comes in..... The tube is too wide for me to just add another washer to fill the space, i need to find another washer that can be placed over the tube to fill the gap.

the word you want is washer(flat round thing with a hole in the middle) not bearing, but yes you are correct, you need either a washer that can go around the steel tube on the outside of the hoof bar or you need to push the side of the hoof out.  Dominion and I made a set of spacers as a test that push out the side walls of the hoof, i have to check with him to see how they're holding up.

Ah thanks for the heads up XarnuSonci. I think i'll stick with getting a wider washer for the top set.
I'm glad i did buy them and the knee cuffs works like a charm and they feel so much lighter and easier to use compared to my FlyJumpers.

Thanks for all your help.

i just made a set of spacers for my stilts, haven't tested them yet, and i have no batteries for my cam, so i'll get a pic up when i get some batteries, but the real solution to this problem has to be something that pushes the foot out, adding more washers will help but it will eventually bend more.  So a bar like 7's feet have or a spacer like i made is the only way to fix it permanently.

Here's an update, i added a pair of rubber washes but they're really just extra sturdy small rubber bands. They seem to do the trick so far.

I'll get some pictures up soon enough........and here they are!

And here it is, hopefully will this work for now.

Ok, so I have this problem too with the same PoweriSer 08's. What could happen if this isn't fixed? Is it mandatory? If its mandatory can someone get me a step-by-step on how to fix it? Because I have noticed that I can wobble them left and right and can feel an extra space. I am not sure where it is on the bocks that you are refering too though... Huh

Well if you want the Powerisers to last longer is it better to fix that problem. It's not so difficult to add an extra washer, just make sure that all the parts are put back together in the way they were before.

Start with taking all the parts that are bent  and bend them straight again (if you have parts that are bent)
When that's done find all the gaps that needs to be filled and add extra washers. Put everything back together, add lubricant and you're done.
If you don't have extra washers or rubber rings can you easily buy then from stores.

Just don't tighten all the bolts and mutters too hard to make your risers stiff.

I don't think it makes a difference.  I'm suspicious that they make them that way because it's harmless and the only true fix is adding a spacer across the top of the hoof part.  Even when I tighten it, it gets loose again.  I think the rubber is a good idea, but I don't think it really matters.

its best to fix it, loose stilts are not good.  Dominion and I made a spacers to go across the inside of the hoof. here's a cutaway view:

adding extra washers will fix the problem temporarily but will prolly eventually make the hoof bend in more requiring more washers, better to just go with the spacer.  Dom says they're working great for him, i haven't tested mine as i sprained my ankle the same day i made the spacer.

I prolly need to add another one of these to the joint on the bottom of the foot plate as that joint has wobbled in the past as well.
