I just got my bushings.  They look pretty good.  Came with some instructions.  It looks like I got enough for the bushings under the footpad as well.  I can't wait to go home and put em in and do some bounce!

i finally got my bearing kit and installed them, they move much smoother and quieter now, but i've still got the problem of the bars connected to the hoof are bent so there's still lateral movement in the joint.

I also found out why everyone must get this kit if they got the original 2007's the plastic spacer digs into the spring leaving a nice gouge and fiberglass splinters around it, but they need to actually break before xphub will replace them under warranty Sad

I am sure thats how Nuttas spring started, something gouged into it, then when it went it totally severed.

I finally installed my bearings too (I'm slow) and now it's snowing Sad

I came here to post and say that I've got a big gouge in my springs where the tube was hitting, but it seems XS has the same issue, and already knows about XPhub's policy.

I wonder how long I have until XPhub won't replace a broken spring?

About 10 seconds after you posted that Tongue

They've got to replace the spring, it's a main working part so will be covered by the warranty. If it isn't... Angry Sprog returneth Grin Angry

new update from me, i finally got to test out my new bearings and after 2 bounces one of the spacers had snapped in half due to that gouge in the springs, and after 10 more mins of bocking the other one was gone too, so i had to do the filming in NYC with some quickly made cardboard spacers.   I emailed xphub to make them aware of this problem and they are sending me new springs and spacers Cheesy so kender  send them an email once your spacers snap, that won't take long, and they should hook you up.

We'll see I think.  We got an inch of snow on the ground up here, I'm unlikely to be bocking anytime soon unless I find an indoor location.

i haven't installed mine yet, they came the day before halloween and i was still doing festivals/contests in my monster outfit so decided to wait till afterwards to take my stilts apart.  i don't jump or run much dressed like that. it turns out that i fell pretty hard halloween night "chasing a police car"  i know, it should have been the other way around.....the worst part is after several years on this forum and i wasn't wearing knee pads.  it was my first time down on this set of stilts and i got over confident and a wire came out of one hoof and snagged the costume on the other leg. have been out of commission since so it'll be several weeks still before i am able to return to the bounce.  after hearing of the spring "gouge" i'm kinda afraid to take mine apart but will do it in the next few days to see how they look.  i'm just glad that if my springs are compromised that i won't be the first to report it to xpub.  the price i guess of being first adopters, working out the bugs.

heres a shot of me at the mid-town atlanta halloween festival:

Well, you know what they say, Chuck.  The older they are, the harder they fall!   Wink  I hope you didn't screw your knee up too much.

Nice costume.

i'm starting where we left off....

i did just about mess up my knee as bad as i could have and still function.  i have a deepened respect now for pads, the asphalt and my age.

after taking 6 months off  to heal and to get way out of shape i put my bocks on for the first time the other day.  felt better than i expected so i will begin a couple times a week but very light stuff.  one thing i noticed is after installing my new hardware (hoofs and "bearings") there is still a bit of play, more on one side but  still enough for lateral movement even when just walking (which was pretty much all i did)  i wanted to hear from you other guys that did the upgrade before i started filling the gaps with more washers, etc.  i was even thinking about taking them to the machine shop that does all my gunsmithing and have him look at them.

i have a long way to go but i hope to get back in shape for our 4th july parade, one of my 2 annual stilt events i hope not to miss, and that first one is sneaking up fast.

Seems like we're always welcoming you back, Chuck.   Wink  I think you may have a few more bockers in your area now.

Anyway, glad to hear you are on the mend.  Read through the following thread (and then chime in) because it starts dealing with the alignment issue in detail about mid-way through.
